It had a ton of negative consequences in Oculus, which is a good example, as I care more about PSVR2 than I care about non-VR PS5 stuff. It's not like big corpos love everything "social" so much cause it's useful for users. It means money. "Social" focus means you can forget about being able to disable absurd data collection during your VR sessions. If the main focus was gaming, this could be ...

I see it as bad news. Nothing good ever came from "social" direction. Just look at Oculus changing from gaming oriented to social oriented. Or the stupid censorship in chats cause suddenly that's most important to ban certain words in chat and introduce surveillence into gaming.
Not to mention a ton of other things coming with "social" direction.
Overall, a very, very bad move. I can understand the low hanging money fruit, but corporate suits don'...

I was warning about it since the release of PC version of Witcher III
They lied about it and all the gamers and media refused to accept it. They defended it and ate the excuses CDPR came up with.
The PC version was shown on E3. Then there was "a talk" with Microsoft and suddenly the PC version was nowhere to be found. And before the release, the CDPR devs:
"We are PC gamers, we will not allow our game to be restricted by less capable platforms" ...

No, because the company is no longer the company which made witchers 2 and 3.
so can a rich company present on stock market ever change its ways, turning 180° from "we want profits! BIG PROFiTS!" back to "we want make the best game as if we were doing it for ourselves, a game for the same gamers as we are"?

Of course not.
This company is dead. There's just skeleton with some rugs moving on the wind with a sleezy guy behind it p...

Not sure who you were replying to. To RazzerRedux or me?
In case you wrote that in response to my comment, I'll reply too:

Go and learn here:
https://blurbusters.com/

The guy there made a few really good articles, photos, videos and explains the topic.
For me: Only 90-120Hz with matching framerate (120Hz=120fps) can be called "normal", but I'd rather choose no...

Camera blur is noticeable all the time. Just not on your display and/or display settings.
hint: check this website and read articles and learn about the nature of blur in games.

https://blurbusters.com/

I game since the 80's and I value crystal clear image in motion. I hate motion blur in games cause I can understand what it takes away. Reading the articles might help you understand it too, but I...

@LucasRuinedChildhood

It can be even 100p or 240p and when CPU single threaded performance is lacking, it won't help.

@darthv72
Oh, so you meant "up to" which is either extremely different from stable 60fps, or not much different unless it goes into low 40ies. Depends what display you're using for playing, if there's an option to disable the motion blur in game and lastly, if you can accept the compromise of having bad flick...

Look at the amount of geometry on screen. PS4 Jaguar CPU is way too slow to sustain 60 in this game. Notice the only games which run at 60fps compared to non-Pro PS4, are the games with corridor-like levels (The Surge) or games which were designed mainly for PS4pro and Xbox X (Onrush) with maybe one or two exceptions with games less rich in geometric detail. The huge pop-up in games like Battlefront is there on PS4pro for the same reason. The Jaguar CPU is total crap, no way around it. They d...

MOTION BLUR

Way to go!
- no one can enjoy the details while panning the camera which takes 80% of the fun from exploration, and makes it impossible to admire details, models in battles.

You lose more of the enjoyment by sacrificing 60fps compared to what you lose by lowering the graphics quality to achieve 60 instead of 30. Many would disagree, and they simply don't game on a display which shows the difference.

Depending on game genre, it can be primary or secondary difference. The input lag, and how the game "feels" to control is the other possibly most important.

All two combined and the answer to the question is zero. ...

There are many problems you choose to ignore:
1. Good luck selling your used game
2. Good luck playing the game once online service is shut down.
3. More digital-only consoles mean the "but you have a choice, if you want disc version, you can still get it" will soon become a lie, as publishers will more and more often ignore disc version if more than 50% of user base has digital only consoles, and look what Sony is doing. It's a scam. The price of disc...

What a surprise!

In other news: Lack of disc drive may become a problem one day for owners of discless consoles!
In yet another news: Cheap can become more expensive when you're stupid.

Don't buy discless consoles, people. And don't buy Xbox S, the console which drops to 720p in past-gen game Gears of War 5. The console which costs more than the other nextgens if you add the huge cost of additional SSD. the console with memory bandwid...

Asking if a 700€ card having 10GB at the end of 2020 is like asking "Do I need to breathe?"

Of course it is a scam by Nvidia. Such expensive card should not be heavily limited in just 1-2 years, and when games designed for next-gen consoles are released, that 10GB will not only force you to lower the settings down from ultra, but there will even be bad PC ports which will cause severe stutter or other issues on cards with 8 and 10GB.
I wouldn't spend ...

The times are gone but hopefully not forever. Just until game devs realize that not everyone shares their opinion that movie-like games are better than games which rely on gameplay.

GOW on PS2 and PS3 were gameplay oriented. The new GoW sacrificed the camera view and some other things, for more "cinematic" experience.

The result is that I finished PS2 GoWs twice, Gow3 1 and a half time and GoW on PS4? I am not even at half of it and don't fe...

No. When the game runs at 60, it runs at 60.
When it struggles more often than rare and occasional stuff, like explosions or one boss fight per 20 hour gameplay, then it's called up to 60

Historically, looking at PS4 generation, up to means anything between "almost never" to "a bit" through "half of the time or a bit more than half".

Examples of up to 60fps which were totally NOT 60fps: Tomb Raider (the first ne...

""Also 'up to' makes sense.""

PS4pro was around 40fps as you mentioned. That's just +50% more raw power required. I understand what you're saying about the compatibility mode, but I disagree. it's not a full emulation, where you could actually make a very valid point that improving the performance by 50% might actually require much more because of the fact you're emulating things.
PS4 had x86 ...

OK, Let's take the situation apart.

1. Who presented arguments and an subjective opinion everyone is entitled to?
2. Who wrote a pointless comment just to insult and express disagreement as if the downvote button was not named "disagree"?

Now. Tell me, but honestly. Who's the troll here?

I'm too old for this, seriously. Give me an argument or buzz off.

About the performance:
There's a question of how fast the train goes vs. how many waggons it can pull. PS5 optimizations might help adding some stuff but not necessarily allow to process the same amount of objects faster. Even x360 -> Xone meant easy 60fps ports of pastgen games with significant improvements. Now it's not clear by now if we'll even get the same between PS4->PS5 and PS4->Xbox X generation jump.
Whatever the GoW 3 on PS5 will be, I don'...

Don't be worried. Be certain
that there's no stable 60fps mode :( if they use words like this. This means it wobbles and is 60fps at times and it's not at times. If we talk about a PS4 game, this is absolutely horrible news.
There's 0,00001% chance it means 60fps 99,9999% and a drop for half a second once per game walkthrough, but first, it's so unlikely I'd say it's impossible, and secondly, if it means drops even in certain rare scenarios like ...
