Yeah, me too...
I never could get into KOTOR(which was partly just me), and thought every game after was essentially the same but worse(based on comments and descriptions from those who had played them)
You know a dev is overrated when they make a crappy Sonic the Hedgehog rpg that meets rave reviews... then fades away into obscurity because everyone realized it wasn't so good...
(Just my 2 cents...^_^;;;;)
Really?
*looks at collapse of zynga, and decline of several major mobile/FB game devs*
HHM...
*looks at Nintendo, regaining profitability after 1 year in at least 25 of losses with billions in the bank*
HHHMMMM......
The thing is, he is talking about the ecosystem, not any individual developer. Yet even there, you can see many "mobile" bubbles bursting, while "traditional" gaming continues to chug along...
Nintendo h...
Not only do that, but they are successful at doing what they've always done.
The same can't be said for Microsoft or Sony, at least not to such an extent. Especially seeing as how they are consistently posting losses, while Nintendo just came back from their FIRST loss in decades after only 1 year.
Monster Hunter!!!! ^o^
They have been hinting at actual info recently, and the latest is that we will here something (Quote:) "Veeeeeery Soon ;)"
Monster Hunter 3G and 4 3ds please.../@[]@/
*reads article*
._.
"Arcade"...
so... SF5?
...-_-;
1) Yeah. I don't know much about it myself, and I know I'm in the majority there...^_^;
2) Latest rumors point to a new RE... on 3DS. So I don't see this happening.
3) They are lame with the way they are being handled... but OT, I don't think so. Not any time soon
4) (IMO) Meh... hope not
5) Yes... Monster Hunter 4 and 3g in the west please... And with recent comments made by one of the new PR guys at Capcom t...
CoD did slip in a big way: in Single Player.
Every year, gamers bought CoD for the multiplayer, which in many eyes amounts to buying not a whole fresh game but a glorified $60 map pack that would require further dlc purchases.
That's the difference. Every Mario is it's own self contained experience and product, but Activisions handling of CoD makes the series feel like a continuing subscription to play what you already have.
It sold about a couple hundred more... on an estimated sales track.
That's not really significant in any way worth noting I think.
@goat
But the fact that they will have shared mp games is just another disadvantage of the vita, as it is lacking in exclusive software against the 3ds by a wide margin that just keeps growing.
More people will be buying 3ds's, and going forward sales will reflect this more and more.
He took a really long break through the GC to mid wii "era"...
Mario has only recently made a huge comeback.
Though, I think they have been overdoing it in the last 6-8 months....^_^;
Japan does have a much better lineup...-_-;
But I have a Japanese 3ds...^.^;
...yet, I still am pretty poor in my Japanese language skills...@_@
Hopefully, most of those great Japanese games will make it over here quickly.
And Nintendo may be getting rare back...
...^.^;
They also would very quickly lose standing and revenue from the hardware side they dropped, lowering their profile and value, thus lowering their game quality/output.
Tunnel vision keeps people from seeing and understanding the big picture here.
Well, they wouldn't ACTUALLY go bankrupt first... despite their rhetoric, they are a company.
However, they wouldn't go belly up very fast at all, and if they did only the big boy franchises would survive(read: mario and pokemon).
Regardless, this would be DECADES from now, so it is kind of pointless to speculate on it... except for fun, of course...^_^;
@green
They have started branching out with multimedia partners just in the last few months, though it remains to be seen what will come of it.
And it is kind of hard to be "one upped" while remaining profitable on all hardware except the 3ds(yes, including the Game cube) and being at the top sales spot 2 and going on 3 consoles in a row.
And will create multiple confusing skus as well.
Not to mention it is really no different than an actual price drop. Not that there is necessary anything wrong with that...
And despite the possible negative effects, this still is a good marketing strategy and may be their best option, so... ok. ^_^
It's like that in every section of n4g... only in the past 3 or so months has the Nintendo section started to get really like this though. Not that that makes it okay or justified, but people are crazy here...=_=;
And while I won't throw my hat into the ring on Zelda vs Okami(haven't played enough okami,though it is pretty good so far) I know they are both well loved franchises with solid entries and many fans, so obviously "better " is subjective... sad...
@the hitman
I actually did a write up months back of all the games Nintendo released this gen within given franchises(an old comment here on n4g before e3)
Nintendo is on par, if not better than their competitors in regards to "milking", making the same if not fewer milked games than everyone else.
Look at this:
Halo: 4 games this gen
Uncharted 4 games in 1 gen
Mario: 2~3 game types divided as follow...
Why the disagrees? @.@;
I don't know myself how this will do, but isn't it setting pre order records(or is this something I'm completely mistaken about@.@???)?
Perhaps... but so does Nintendo, and on top of that they also make games themselves.^_^;
I don't think many Atari games were all that good.
Nintendo rarely makes games lacking in quality, from a play and product point of view(bugs and the like) and have been doing so consistently for more than 25 years.
So no, I think opposite day is still aways off. Keep your clothes the way they are. ^_^;
I only read the header, but I still have thoughts on that...
I dislike CoD because, as a single player game(I don't/can't play online) It is garbage. CoD 1, 2 and even WaW had great to decent SP modes, but the rest had "tunnel syndrome" progression.(something I think the Halo series has suffered from more and more with each iteration) I also dislike the fact that double tapping "L" auto fixes to enemies(a feature I never use), taking away what litt...
