If by succeed you mean make more revenue than all other Final fantasy games combined (like FFXI has and still continues to do so), then it being very similar would be a good way to succeed.
From what I've read up on this game so far they're going to be making a greater effort to make the game have more traditional Final Fantasy game built in then build the MMO aspects around that. They haven't confirmed yet but hinted that there will be voice acting this time around.
funny the games only a year old it seems like ages to me ago when it came out, the game world goes so fast.
Yea let's just use screenshots the developers give us themselves and compare... it more like a competition on who can push the limit on how far they go doctoring up the image. We all know in this day and age that's not a fair graphics comparison.

This is the best news so far, I thought he was done working with SE; guess not. I played FFXI and he did most of the more memorable tracks in that game. Been following this project for some time and was worried it might come out lackluster without Nobuo doing the score, kind of a shocker to see his name listed as composer. I have a feeling ff13 will flop critically but this game will step in and save the day for the series.

I don't think it's Sony that's charging more it's the third parties that want the title at that price.
Well the good thing is that if this game flops hopefully Sony will force them to make another socom game in the vein of Socom2.
Maybe after the 360 sells enough units with 60gb and up Hard drives to justify costs SE will port it over, I think that's the deal - It definitely won't launch on 360. 12gb hard drive space on most 20gb 360s isn't enough.
I don't think this is the game, he said it was going to redefine storytelling or something like that, and this i don't think is it. Sony has A lot of studios, and could very easily have several unnanounced titles being made atm.
Hell yes! Nobuo Uematsu is back with Final Fantasy! I've been looking forward to this game for awhile but this is just icing on the cake.

This game is supposed to run at 60fps so I'm sure it looks a lot better when you actually play it. So it probably competes with Uncharted2 better than we all think so far.
