Well even if you're not hard of hearing, good luck hearing the quiet sequences of movies over the Jet engine noise the 360 puts out. Might as well move my PC to my living room and watch movies off it. They do need subtitles cause frankly not everyone can blast the volume to max so they can hear the movie.
I don't see why they don't put all 3 campaigns on the disk and have co-op on all of them, that would make up for Res2's lack of co-op.
The press just loves to add in everytime a good PS3 game comes along, that it happens to be the killer app the PS3 'desperately' needed or needs. It's like they can't stand that PS3 made a great game, that they feel the need to act as if Sony has been way behind microsoft in game quality, and now they're just catching up. It's hardly the truth, but we see it repeated often.
The truth is more like: Sony made another great exclusive title, they hardly need it but it never hurts ...
It sounds to me like they're making a ps3 version in the background, but still hoping for a lucrative exclusivity contract from Microsoft, which Microsoft may pay for. That's why the ps3 version isn't mentioned anywhere, it would seem very wrong if they had to 'cancel' a ps3 version if it were already announced.
why does everything get a 9+from IGN anymore? I mean last year prince of persia got like a 9.3 that was bs, this seems like the same thing. U can bet they'll be giving AC2 a 9+. ODST got a 9.0. Hell i beat batman it's not a 9/10 game. They're caving to publisher pressure. I used to think IGN was fairly legitimate, I guess you have to convert a 9.0 into an 7.5 and a 9.5 into a 9.0 to find the real score. Sure these are good games, but you have to compare them to some of the great games on the ...
if they give uncharted a 95, then Assasins creed 2 which will be over rated by them won't be able to beat it with the 95 it will probably get from them.
unfortunately a game that comes out later and is fresh when they do awards will probably take it from uncharted even know u2 is the better game. MW2 will probably get it from most sites primarily because of it's November release.
After uncharted 2 gets into everyone's hands later this year Uncharted will take over the 1 spot. The demo rocks (co-op), you can already see why the critics are going crazy over it.
To me it's quite obvious why they're showing vs. off. They want Japanese people to buy PS3's, and if they show vs. it makes buying the console a better proposition, since it's not just for one game but 2.
The first couple reviews i saw were good, but they were not big sites, so i figured it was just some fanboys who imported the game trying to hype it up. But now the good reviews just keep rolling in, I gotta get this game, still wondering what IGN will give it. I'm curious to see if the challenge will turn me off to it.
It's easy to understand, Microsoft does not want you to think you don't need a PC, because your console can do most of what your PC does.
They got into the console race because PlayStation was becoming more and more functional, and had would eventually be able to do anything a PC can do, and thus start competing with PCs and Windows. Who knows Sony might have been there with the PS3, had MS not intervened. It sucks to be a Microsoft customer when that's the petty reason why th...
I really hope they notch the frame rate up to 60 if they do this, one thing that really bugged me about shadow of the colossus was the 15-20 fps frame rate it would drop to a lot, and that's something emulators can't really do.
I don't see how ps2 gta's getting remastered in hd would really be that big of a deal, We already have a true HD GTA called GTA4, that would look a lot better. And it's not like you can't already play the PS2 gtas in HD on a PC.
even though it has new enhancements and better graphics, I'm not paying $60 for a game that's over a year old, I might get it when it's down to $30. I don't really want game companies thinking timed exclusivity is a viable business model. The part about them having to lie and say another consoles version doesn't exist, or say they have no plans for such a thing is a bunch of crap. Timed exclusivity almost always is the product of someone money-hating a game later in development.
I'm almost wondering if the god of war package is based on emulation work they've been trying to do for all games. Maybe we're getting shafted, getting resold the same games in hd - when it could be getting mainly done via emulation. In the same vein I'd like to see a final fantasy package wiht x, x-2, and xii.
I played it for about half an hour today.. Game doesn't look to be a AAA game. I didn't know what the heck i was doing most of the time. It doesn't seem to run as smoothly as other shooters, hopefully they'll fix that by release. Seemed like a standard shooter with a large map, with lots of objectives. - I'll try again tomorrow I wasn't expecting much, it certainly didn't blow me away in any way.
Awesome!! I plaid the JP demo many months ago I've been wondering why such a high quality game didn't make it overseas. Hopefully 4 will come too.
I love how this guy sites blu-ray disk speed vs DVD disk space when working on an MMO. MMOs are built to be installed to the hard drive, so that the makers can patch anything in the game quickly. With a mandatory hard drive in PS3 the game can be installed to the hard drive, and a Hard drive literally kicks the living crap out of a dvd drive when loading data. What a horrible argument, especially if you're citing MMO's.
I'm going to say if Final Fantasy XIII is released on two disks on the 360, we'll know Microsoft's multi-disk royalties probably had its hand in Square-enix making this decision - and the content was in fact cut from the original plan of the game.
I wonder how bad Sony could slam Halo if they put KZ3 and R3 in the same time frame as halo:reach, they could really bury halo:reach, particularly if the graphics in KZ3 will be as amazing as I'd expect.
