It seems like a great deal because the $99 wifi adapter is given for free, only because Microsoft charges $99 for their friggin wifi adapter.
If they put that thing on the motherboard it wouldn't run them more than $3.

The truth is they won't and won't ever include wifi (which costs $2-3 to include built-in) because they want customers to buy the thing not realizing they need wifi, then after it's all been said and done be forced to pay an exuberant fee for the wifi adapter, which microsoft has huge profit margins with. Crappy business practice we know, but this is microsoft.

Can anyone predict the articles CNET and friends will write to represent the PS3 when it sells out this year?

'PS3 Sold out, but still will never catch MS' if i had to guess?

6051d ago 5 agree0 disagreeView comment

This is the most sorry thing, because they got this article out earliest as well as cnet (big surprise here), major news outlets like 'the washington post' are using his headline as the news story. Go to google news you'll see CNET's lovely 'Skip the PS3 Slim and get one of these Blu-ray laptops' http://news.cnet.com/8301-1... article as the main story representing the PS3 slim announcement.

It is...

I definitely agree that Consumers in America are getting more and more short-term minded by the day. Something that lasts is seen as less important than how flashy it is on day 1. I am an American and I don't consider myself one of the consumers following this trend, but I do see people like this on a daily basis. They're definitely out there, but all us Americans aren't that way. Some of us do use a value equation when looking at different products.

Unfortunately when you ...

I'd hate to get someone a 360 as a gift and have it break down on them

6055d ago 2 agree0 disagreeView comment

The reason why Gamepro's numbers are so high, is because readers of their publication are mostly all Gamers. The casuals that barely use their system are not included in the poll.
If you game a lot odds are your 360 will die on you.

If you think it's all Sony fan boys trying to inflate the numbers, you're probably wrong - because for everyone one of them there's an xbox fanboy pretending their 360 didn't break down.

If the price is 299€ in Europe one would have to speculate Sony would drop the price in North America to $249, or even $199(gasp).

I'll probably get this game if Amazon has another 10$ free gift card with pre-order, but at $60 it's last in my priorities, and Mag is before it.

Not to mention later PS3 and PC owners got a FREE OF CHARGE Titan pack for UT3 courtesy of Epic, that was no where to be found on xbox live. If companies don't want to have to charge for DLC they shouldn't be forced to.

But all in all Sony gives the option to give it out for free or have it paid for, Microsoft doesn't. So because InfinityWard/activitision has to charge for the maps on xbox live, they would have a huge backlash if they didn't charge the same price on PSN - so they charge (I wouldn't be surprised if MS has rules that in order to offer dlc on xbl you cannot charge less on a competing console). It's that simple. Microsoft kind of screws both consoles over in this way for multi-platform dlc.

As I understood it anyone could breath in the atomosphere on Helghan, It's just the long-term effects of living there that had the helghan wearing masks.

The storyline is a good read: From Killzone.com -
"In 2220 the heads of the various refugee camps come together for the first time to reform the Helghan Administration. 90% of the refugee camps agree to collectivize their resources and labor, in order to cooperate in the rebuilding of their civilization.

A quieter DVD drive?? This guy really doesn't seem to know much here, The thing is so loud because the disk has to spin much much faster than a Blue ray drive. They simply don't make 'quiet' DVD drives when they're accessing data at full speed, not to mention it'd have to be very cheap. If MS wanted a Quieter Console they needed to use an HD format from the get-go, end of story.

Now they could do something about the CPU fan which is also very loud, but they would need better a...

How can this not be a lame move by Microsoft? Its hard to believe not one person in Microsoft's Marketing department would have atleast seen this song associated with LBP. I almost think they wanted to use the song so Sony couldn't use it to push LBP more.

Watch them do almost everything Microsoft is doing with natal and then some before Microsoft even launches Natal, just to show just how useless Natal's 3D sensor really is.

I was thinking Sony should do like a wii-sports type thing with Sackboy- as well as bundle LBP with every PS3. The thing definitely needs a robust software package, Sony definitely has the Devs to do it.

Hate to say it but odds are that it's a PC engine so it will struggle on PS3, I hope they can bring it up closer to par with the 360 and PC. We'll probably see something like 640p vs 720p and Quincunx or no AA on PS3 - the usual PS3 treatment.

I hope publishers get the message: $7.99 is a much more attractive price point than $9.99 or $14.99. It's so rare to see someone try to price something there when PSN started a lot of the games were $6.99.

Yea I was definitely disappointed when they gave this game the short end of the stick budget wise - the gameplay is great and gives the socom 2 feel - but still seems to be lacking in the presentation department and doesn't quite have the polish of COD/KZ2/Res2. To me it seems like they just needed one of the bigger studios working on the game. Really hoping Zipper gets the whole add more players = more fun out their system with MAG, and returns to make us an 8vs8 socom once again.

Can you imagine the scale of the CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT that would have been filed against Microsoft had they not introduced the three year RROD specific warranty? yea Microsoft wouldn't be making consoles ever again that's for sure.

@hulud86
With xbox live As long as you keep believing you're getting something for what you pay for, Microsoft will keep charging you it. You see you lose by defending their decision to charge you, heck we all lose because we're all forced to ...

I'd have to say Sony wouldn't have sold many PS3s had Sony kept the price at $600 with or without Microsoft in the market - they had to lower the cost. They make money off the software not the hardware so getting it out to consumers was important. Trophys you can probably give ms credit for, but in game xmb and the new store you're reaching.

Say Sony backs out next gen, well all be paying for online, watching ads on our interfaces and playing on rushed-untested cheap, noisy har...
