Those games were internally developed and used Rockstar's 'Rage' game engine, this one does not. In fact it's being developed by a third party (the getaway team) that has always worked with Sony, it's just published by Rockstar. Using those games as a benchmark for how this game will turn out is a hard sell.

I would hope it would mean good things, but Rockstar North and Team Bondi are different studios - Team Bondi's using their own engine as far as I know. If Rockstar is using their rage engine (what was used on GTA4 and Red Dead) it won't likely be too impressive graphically, though they are fans of the disk space; so maybe having unique detailed locations throughout the game will make up for that.

I might be wrong, but I think they might have pulled it recently from the Hong Kong Store, I'm not finding it there.

It seems more and more evident reviewers got very unhappy about not getting a proper 3 day muliplayer extravaganza at a pompish resort (like black ops). That's what you need to score in the 9-10 range this gen, at least that's they've been conditioned to believe. They got mad about Sony giving them very limited time with multiplayer before the 'embargo', and they reacted like little spoiled babies knocking the score down to 'teach Sony a lesson.'

You make a great point, I'm saying no one was really given ample time with the multiplayer - so much of the press got angry with Sony and scored the game down because they didn't want to get left behind with a late review score- They scored the game as if it had no multiplayer at all.

8.5s isn't that bad of a score, but when you compare it to other big shooters that have no better stories (Halo 3, Halo ODST, MW2, Black Ops, Gears2, Bioshock) which are holding plus...

Black Ops had a very cozy review event, that's why.

Review Events tend to have that effect on scores, like the one ODST had.

yet mark one game down for it, but not the other. All those games you mentioned (sans me) had 'review events', where killzone 2-3 didn't. I guess a mindless popcorn movie is more enjoyable if your sitting in front of a big screen tv with surround sound in a luxurious hotel room with the ocean waves sounding in the background than playing KZ3 in the office.

Kinect selling 360s is only replacing most core gamers buying 360s. So MS selling more consoles won't translate into selling games for the core market. I think the CoD figures here show that 360users/no console owners are switching over to PS3 for killzone 3.

Gears 3 looks pretty impressive graphically. But those are bullshots, are you guys serious about thinking they're real? Most devs release Bullshots, Epic is notorious for it.

The problem is does it really matter that MS is selling more consoles? Someone who buys it for kinect will be buying fitness and dance games, someone who buys it for call of duty will be buying more hardcore games. Sure alot of harcore gamers bought dance central, but who's really going to buy any more dance games? If you're a publisher you're not going to make much more money developing hardcore games on 360, because the casuals aren't going to buy your game anyway. Their s...

I'd love to see them add in a search and destroy + tactician grenades as a special mode later - I loved the chaos that would cause in KZ2.

Heavenly Sword is a much better game. What were they thinking using the unreal engine for enslaved?

It's too bad Activision couldn't hold a 'Review Event' for the DLC too.

Why do you think this site has lots of PS3 fans on it? Seriously what's the reasoning? It just is that way - doesn't cut it really, and the fanboys scaring off other fanboys excuse is ridiculous...many fanboys had to be there in the first place - this site wasn't always overpopulated with Sony fans.

N4G is unlike any other gaming site because represents a selection of the most diverse viewpoints in gaming. Why doesn't this 'swarm' of ps3fans populate i...

"They embraced our vision of where we wanted to go with this and just got in there and said 'Hey guys, let's get in there and make this happen."

That sounds like Microsoft paid them to me - 'let's make this happen' means they were ready to forward lots of money upfront. I'm not saying it's terrible that MS was willing to invest more, but this article seems to be trying to tell us something different.

Why do Call of Duty MW2 and Black Ops Score so well? They're called review events look into it - they work. Halo 3 made them popular.

I wish they'd surprise us and make the multiplayer a lot like old school socom or counterstrike (since i don't have a lot of hope for socom4 filling that void). There's enough standard respawn multiplayer games out there, the best thing about Resistance 2 was the original co-op mode that separated itself from the pack. They should just can the standard death match stuff. Having a lot of 'options' leads to none of those single entities succeeding well on their own.

I kind of thought it would be a massive world where we could explore all over the place - what I had in mind wouldn't be a game you finish in 3 hours if you chose to explore.
