You're damn right, I miss EGM's old 4 person scoring. One score always leads to inflated scores.

I'm hoping this game sells well enough to keep the series alive, but scores poorly critically so they have to listen to the fans and go back to complete old-school socom. It's sad that zipper won't listen to the people that buy their games and keep them employed.

Yea they messed up confrontation, the game had all kinds of glitches and slow loading menues - they shouldn't have put a rookie developer on it with no budget to work with. However it was closer to the original socoms than Socom 4.

That is something that is getting routinely overlooked, where reviewers will be in love with and over look frame-rate problems in crysis 2 - all the while giving no credit at all to solid/smooth graphics.

If we have 8gb of ram we're going to need 32x blue ray drives and we're still a ways from that. I don't want to sit and wait 5 minutes for a game to start.. There's a reason the consoles only have half a gig.

Well I agree with you on one point MAG did have a large emphasis on team work - I'm a fan of MAG. One thing i do remember about mag was even though you re-spawned, there was quite a penalty to doing so (30second wait sometimes and a long long walk to get back into actually doing something)

I agree you can be every bit or more of a team player in other games, ever bit as much as a gamer; what I'm saying is these games just don't reward it(and therefore encourage ...

@Dread

You are very very hypocritical the way you attack 'rabid fan-boys' judging from your post history.
Perhaps some people had good reason to question a reviewer's credibility in the past? Why is it so 'rude' to question a journalist's credibility? Honestly the industry is corrupt enough as it is we all should be questioning it. (review events, all sites paid for by the products they review, as well as routine junkets as the only way to ge...

Respawning endlessly is the most meaningless game-play there is, the reward to shooting someone on the other team is practically nothing. All you get is stats, in that sense its all about you and no longer about your team winning. Games need to grow a pair really, and quit hand holding the weakest/dumbest players - that way everyone actually has to strive to become better. You wouldn't be sitting around waiting for 3 minutes if you had stayed alive, hence the value of staying alive that ...

"I hate the say it, but I honestly think S1 and S2 only sold as much as they did because they were the only online shooter option on the PS2, at the time"

I played Socom 2 back in it's prime and it was one of the best multiplayer games ever made. Your statement only comes from the fact you never really got into socom 1 or 2, you're looking at it from the outside. There is a very sizable hardcore base to socom that speaks to the fact I'm n...

I think gamers need to get to gether and set up a DDoS 'hive' targeting Anon's IRC servers... That would be funny.

Sales is a speculative number as well. It's about time industry people stopped letting microsoft get away with fake sales due to RROD. This is a third party site with no affiliation with Sony, I would take that over what MS or Sony say. Active install base is what really matters, however will matter less the more casuals (that won't buy nearly as many hardcore games) each console racks up.

Wow IcarusOne, Way to go generalizing the 'PS3 community.' PS3 is quite a good time, maybe if you'd let yourself enjoy it a little bit you might not have such harsh opinions about people - that are supposedly very different from you.

Marketing is something that is controversial in itself, you could pick apart just about any form of it if you wanted to. We would be better off without it, but as it is - their competitors do it so they have to as well. If anything...

Exactly DDoS is something they can only periodically do, or else they'll get caught eventually. Any network connected to the internet is pretty much susceptible to DDoS, it doesn't make them good hackers by any degree.

Geohot's going to lose his case because of these attacks. Way to set a precedent hackers.. You would have won, and you would have had your precedent, but looks like not anymore. They would have waited if they were smart.

I'm sure they'll start once after the PS3 version comes out, cause they're not going to give all those guys a free pass too. Everyone bailing doesn't depend whether it's free or not it depends more on the quality of the game.

@Master_S

You won't think so if they throw DDOS attacks all over PSN and force it offline.

So Anonymous will take down a multi billion dollar corporation so it's even richer competitors can have better market position, really - it's like they didn't think this one through. It's nerd rage, plain and simple.

Sony didn't send them to a nice hotel with free gifts to review it, so Killzone 3 does suck to them.
