IGN really aren't that much XBOX fan boys, if you compare their reviews of exclusives, they're very close to what meta scores games. They overate games for each console equally when compared to the meta averages. Gamespot leans more toward xbox than IGN does. Killzone 3 got shafted by a lot of reviewers because journalists were given very little time to play the multiplayer when the embargo ended - which is clearly part of the reason they're doing the subway thing with U3.

Well if MS didn't contract for the whole trilogy to be exclusive, you can bet making Gears 3 exclusive to 360 was quite costly for them - they'd have to cover close to all projected PS3 revenue. Meaning they(MS) probably forfeited all revenue they could have gotten from the game and may be taking a loss. Looks like MLAA to me on PS3(I'm in the beta), doesn't save the graphics however, the textures are low res. Jaggies are gone mostly, but still some ugly effects from it being sub-hd.
After playing the PS3 beta and hearing about this game being hyped to be one of the best looking games out there on console - it was a major disappointment graphically. Not even close to being up with the top looking games on consoles, it's not any better looking than BC2.
The game play is unique and the sound is outstanding, but graphics are a major letdown on the consoles, MW3 will look much better than this game in motion.
Well I had my suspicions about edge, so I decided to put my money where my mouth was and I put a spread sheet together. The math is all real, you can export the document to double check. I have no idea why Edge is Biased, but the fact remains they are by quite a quantifiable margin pro 360 and anti PS3.

Why is everyone getting flagged for trolling? The FACTS as they are show that Edge consistently underscores PS3 exclusives while overscoreing 360 exclusives when compared to the rest of the videogames media. 7 for Resistance, while 9 for Gears is expected.

well part of the draw of getting involved in an online world is the fact everyone starts at a level playing field - something we're not afforded in real life. The FtP model just rewards players more for already having more disposable income in real life.
Even if it doesn't prevent piracy, Pirates will have to buy the Sony Memory cards; so atleast, even if the system is selling at a loss they will make some profit over the deal.
I think Cliffys wrong, I'd personally rather see someone who wasn't 'emotionally attached' to a games' developer, franchise, or console maker reviewing the game. I need someone to give me an honest no-bs description of a games flaws, and I won't get that when the guy reviewing the game wants to gloss over things to protect his own interests. I bought gears of war 2 after the media said it was the best game out there, only to get bored to death 1 hour in.
Well i think they rushed 2, largely to get it out before killzone 2. The campaign definitely needed co op and more work done to it. In my opinion they should have scrapped all the other multiplayer modes and just done campaign coop; with the 8-Player co-op mode as multiplayer. Do we really need deathmatch redone in every game?

Every 360 sold as part of the free 360 with a Windows 7 laptop is counted in NPD. And lots of laptops sell before school season, the numbers are inflated and will show what they really are in october and november - but by then MS may have sent another aggressive bundle out.
the offer lasts through september, so semptember's NPD will be skewed in 360's favor as well.
The point is: MS is more concerned about screwing its competitors over than doing something that's best for everyone.
I think Sony is landing a lot of exclusive content deals because developers have the space on the disk to do it and MS doesn't like it because it's not that easy for them.
Publish it out of MS's pocket? I don't get that part. MS wouldn't be paying to publish the game late, someone else would. Whatever charges they(MS) incur are minimal. Developers wouldn't be going to MS to publish a game they released on other platforms first.
Maybe this is why you can't use the wiiU tablet as a portable independent device?
'Better' is hard to quantify. If you said more detailed, more realistic I would say yes, but if you said prettier - that's something Uncharted 3 will probably beat it on.
Well here's how I see it, the review in particular may be giving his own honest opinion of the game, but there's a good chance Warner chose his outlet for the review first because they know he loved the series and batman and would give a favorable review. Why would publishers agree to use his outlet as the first review? It's not like OPM Australia is going to outbid IGN.
