If U3's multi-player is 'average', what's better to you and why?
I like reading stuff from PSBlog because we know it's straight up PR; rather than PR disguised as someone's opinion.
Is this Jaffe's hidden attempt to appeal to the critics before Twisted Metal hits? Sounds rather flattering to defend the critics from the inevitable questions of authenticity, curruption, and so fourth; which are inevitable with the sad state of the gaming press. (Being at a tremendous conflict of interest in every single review they write)
The problem with defending 8/10s is when the same reviewer gives other games higher scores and more or less subscribes to the same ...
11-2-11, one day after Uncharted 3 hits? Wonder if there's any significance, are they working with Sony..(probably not), or maybe GTA fans tend to own PS3s? They're not scared to jump in front of MW3, Zelda, Skyrim, and Halo. Maybe just to overshadow SR3, which may be getting reviewed right after that date. Or there's no significance, fun to speculate though.
Yea sounds like someone (Sony) gave gametrailers all the exclusive promotional interviews.. (which they did)
You mean the statistical anomaly where they rate 360 exclusives higher than PS3 exclusives? Statistically speaking, they are a long ways from righting that wrong. No one thinks it's a conspiracy, it's just consistent bias - where it's easy to see how it's unfair.

Well I'm willing to bet he used the 'fast motion' unluck you can get after beating the game once (was in the first 2 uncharted games) - most games don't have that.
I don't think Sony would let MS beat them to the market again, unless MS did another early rush to the market for 2012 (which in case Sony would rush to answer probably release in spring 2013). Remember next time there won't be a shortage of blu-ray diodes.
Also, MS would have had a much harder(more expensive) time with securing 360 exclusives if PS3 market-share was formidable early on.
I'm wondering if MS will screw over it's potential power with a bloated Windows 8 OS running in the background. However it would be a modified OS, because no way they'd want it to be an open system like PC.
I'm thinking Sony has the most leverage to make next-gen exclusive content, having the exclusive studios they own, but market conditions may force them into making ps3/ps4/vita cross platform projects, perhaps even further if they stumble. Nintendo can make a lot too, it's just they're not set up for HD development yet, and WiiU will likely be far short of the fidelity of PS4/720.
The rest will be a sea of multiplatform stuff with 360,720,ps3,ps4,wiiu,Nextgen- ta...
How do we Know Halo 4 isn't secretly for MS's 360 successor as well? This is something I can see happening, considering the wii did well with zelda on gamecube and wii.
I think they should just develop a new game instead of do single player DLC, it just doesn't make sense to add side stories to a campaign. Also single player 'DLC' should be playable separate from the game (like ratchet and clank) It's lame to force people to buy Gears 3 just to play additional content that doesn't really need the disk to work. Few people even finish campaigns in games now days unless they're fans of the game.
In regards to multi-pla...
Scored like full game, only costs $20..
Do they really need to 'remake' the old maps? I'd rather see them just include all U2 online maps so we can have double the maps.
Problem is they've attached themselves to the Batman franchise, and not everyone wants to play as a pop-culture superhero. These people aren't haters, they just don't really like the idea of playing as a roided up batman.
It's hard to imagine this game without the licence, would the scores be the same? I haven't played the new one, but the first one I would say - no the game wouldn't be praised as much.
As much as many of us don't want to hear it, this is the start of a very bad trend for the videogames industry. People finishing college don't have jobs pay for games anymore. Unemployment is a very real problem when post grads are a prime demographic for buying games. I'm expecting MW3 to perform poorly this year, and things aren't going to change soon.
I know we can all have a huge argument over sales, but if units sold is such a big deal - that implies profits for more investment. The problem is MS doesn't own the Gears of War IP, Epic does. we don't know the details, but it's reasonable to assume MS makes very little off the sales of Gears of War 3, despite how well it sells. Sony on the other end is likely profiting from it's series.
It sounds like you're suggesting Gears and Halo have better storylines and better art design? I never really got into the Halo storyline (perplexes me how the games are scored so high to this day) so I won't judge that one, but Gears of War a better storyline than resistance? That's a stretch. If anything Halo and Gears get scored well for multiplayer. I wouldn't call Insomniac's art direction less caliber than those 2, but about on the same level. I do own all the recent ...
We really haven't seen if BioWare fans ditched ME yet, because ME2 was released on the xbox360 as an exclusive with no announcement of a PS3 version.
@gamingdroid I'm really liking the UC3 multiplayer, very deep, faster paced than UC2, and there's a lot of climbing.
In my opinion, Gears 3 is solid, but movement seems clunkier/slower than UC3. I'm loving the ability to throw grenades back. I really think UC3 has a chance at growing through word of mouth. It's certainly not average. It's also, the prettiest game out there - remember CoD4 caught on largely because of visuals.
