Dev kit, not "beta Unit". Plus, why is it "poorly designed"? It's clearly created to maximise airflow for the high-end internals as the Dev kit is usually twice as powerful as the consumer unit - meaning it'll be more powerful than any PC gaming rig out there.
We've not seen the Xbox Dev Kit yet, it'll probably also have a 'unique' look to it.
It has PC vibes? You mean it looks like a rectangle box... that’s the only similarity
Doubt it hurt the sales at all, you just can’t see the sales numbers of stadia, EGS or the rockstar store, only Steam. So yeah, probably affected ‘Steam’ sales, but not overall sales
No, it’s not. It launched on EGS, Stadia and Rockstars own launcher on day one, with Steam a month later. We’ve seen games like Borderlands 3 have massive success, and Outer Worlds, yet they have a year exclusivity. The issue isn’t EGS, even though the haters seem to want to push that agenda, it’s because it came to consoles a year earlier and everyone played it there and realised the online portion wasn’t as robust as GTA V
Agree with the review. I bought the game off a friend for £10 because he didn't like it and we didn't get a review copy from Sony. I finished the story the other day and it was one of the most frustrating things I've played for a while. The story and direction (towards the final five or six chapters) is really good, but the constant glitchy movements, monotonous and boring gameplay, and constant attacks from the ever-spawning creatures you can't escape from 90% of the tim...
@Spicyram - a 5/10 doesn't literally mean "it's garbage" - far from it. Remember, the rating is out of 10, so 5 is average, it provided the reviewer a bit of enjoyment and it had some redeeming features, but it wasn't the best thing they've played.
There's no guidelines or rules regarding the scores and when you'd give them out.
This is the problem - it's like a joke, if you have to explain it (even once), then there's a problem.
The problem with regional pricing is that the prices you see in the article aren't the same as over here in the UK (and I don't simply mean because it's dollars and not pounds). Superliminal is a £15.99 game, reduced to £12.79. In dollars, that's above their threshold of $15 so they can use the 10 dollar code - but it's below the £15 minimum offer we have so we can't use the discount code to further reduce it.
It's the same with th...
I thought there was! Seems like as soon as someone posts the question or an opinion, some publications decide to post their own view on it if it differs from the original person.
Wasn’t there an article a few days ago literally titled “Resident Evil 4 doesn’t need a remake“? Wish people would make up their mind.
Why? It’s been in dev for a number of years now, developed for the current gen machines. It’ll be patched to take advantage of the ps5 as well, but dropping support for the PS4 and enhancing everything when it’s less than a year away is just silly.
No chance they’ll buy a Japanese studio, most Japanese companies flat out refuse to be bought by a foreign company. If they want to get into the Japanese market, they’ll have to set up their own studio and hire talent themselves
‘Stills’ implies the trailer was running at that, which we all know it wasn’t. Also, if you grab both the 4k and 8k versions on the site then zoom right in, as far as you can, on any set of images - they look identical. Basically, the ‘8k’ images appear to be simply upscaled versions of the 4k ones, only it’s hard to question as nobody will pixel count to see if it’s native or not.
I’m not quite sure why they did this, unless it’s a marketing trick, to make you think the g...
PS3 emulation was developed by one person... https://rpcs3.net/about
yeah, there's a bunch of people behind it as well as the support they get from the community along the way. True, Sony could throw a lot more people at it than these guys ever could, and they know the system much better than those who have been working on emulating if for up to eight years, but will they?
even with this PC emulati...
Not technically correct. There's no PS1 games on the system or PSNow, they never introduced them even though they mentioned they may add them back when PSNow launched. In regards to PS2, again, yes and no. The games' aren't straight up being emulated - like the original Xbox games on the Xbox One. They've been altered to include trophies - which is why only a few actually came out.
Technically the PS4 'could' emulate both of those systems, but it do...
So Epic shows a game with ray tracing and decent visuals, yet it’s underwhelming. Then MS shows a pre-rendered cutscene (something they seem to love doing at the moment) and it’s the best thing in the world...
It was a pre-rendered trailer which was most likely running on PC hardware - what was shown to temp anyone who has their feet firmly in the PS ecosystem? I don't recall seeing any gameplay or anything which made me think "I need an xbox". I'll grab it on PC for free via GP if it turns out to be something I wanna play, but tempt me to buy an Xbox... nah
Would be true if they only announced the name, but slapping the name on the console means it doesn't imply anything other than MS don't' know how to name their products.
IF they'd said Xbox Series X, then underneath had this console and called it Xbox X, then that would imply that there may be more, with this one taking the initial 'X' position, but it didn't. So I fail to see why this terrible name implies anything other than the above.
@Killbill - you clearly don't understand how the dev kits work and know the difference between the retail and developer units. The design isn't a 'v' for the PS5, it has fans placed in that position so that the airflow comes up and forces itself out in an efficient manner.
"my thoughts unless they wise up is that their design won't be far off the Dev Kit." - your thoughts are very silly, ignorant and without merit. If you look back at pretty m...
