These GamingBolt 'Interviews' are terrible. They always split up a full interview into numerous articles, stripping the context behind the answers and the questions asked out of them in order to fuel their agenda - clickbait.

I have nothing against the devs, they made a fun 2D pixel-art game last year which I enjoyed playing, but I highly doubt they've even seen the new units, nevermind have any insight or knowledge of their capabilities. They were forced to ans...

"With psnow you're paying to have a limit on your streaming time. There are queue lines. On ps4- the ones you can download are few and the big number of games people mention alot like 98-99%? of games can only be streamed which like I said has time limits."

So many things wrong with that statement, which is quite funny as you claim to be a 'fanboy spotter' then act like one yourself...

First, there are no 'time limits'. Yeah,...

@Donnie81: "Part of the appeal of xcloud is streaming your digital library and gamepass games. That alone is better than psnow. 720o lag slow loading textures. U go enjoy psnow bra"

Just had to step in here before you dug yourself in any further...

First of all, xCloud is 720p and runs on Xbox one S servers - so the vast majority of anything they put on there will be 30fps. Plus, looking at people play it, the latency on the service is around th...

No exclusives? Why would PlayStation make games for PSNow? It’s a rental service. If you mean exclusives in general, there’s a bunch of PS3 and PS4 exclusives in the service.

I doubt you're in the minority. All the people I know with an Xbox One s or X have never played a UHD film on them via disc, they've streamed 4k content but never via a disc. Sure, it's a nice addition to have but the quality of the Xbox One UHD drive is terrible in comparison to a stand-alone drive, so those looking to get the best experience on their 4k TVs will also have a player even if they have an xbox.

Physical media in all aspects is becoming less and le...

Would have gone the same way - plus it would have meant the 360 would have been delayed to come out around a year after the Ps3 launch rather than a year before.

The reason Blueray won was because all the major film companies backed that instead of HD-DVD - the PS3 having the drive built-in as standard helped but it wasn't the main reason the format became the dominant one.

@darth - they didn't include any support to play CD Audio this gen (as it would have required an app) but the drive technically still reads CDs.

@Trauma - compared to the 360 library, only a handful had Xbox one X enhancements - I'm not counting the emulated ones at native resolutions (which was the vast majority of the BC titles) but I'm on about the ones manually optimised by MS to run at a higher resolution than the original release.

It never referred to it as anything but the "full model" - https://n4g.com/news/231720...

@livinunicorns - it's not false or misleading as the 'original' model is the switchable version. Other than the battery life, there's no difference to the launch version as all clock speeds are restricted to the same as that device, it's just had altered hardware so you can't mod it anymore.

also, the new battery life is about 50% more and you can't find the switchable version in the UK at the moment - regardless of the new or old version. The on...

UHD drives play all disc formats from the 100gb discs to 700mb CDs. Plus, don't forget Sony was one of the initial creators of the format - so I imagine if it didn't work, they would create a drive where it would.

Doubtful. Without actively altering the game code (of all 3k+ games), the games won't push past what we saw on the Pro in terms of resolution and framerates. Think PS4 to PS4 Pro via boost mode. Games will have a smoother framerate and less use of the dynamic resolution thanks to the overhead, but enhancements like new textures, higher resolutions, and doubling the framerate will require updates from devs - which usually is a charged service on consoles (publishers pay to update games). ...

"In the past, some titles are carried over but owners have to repurchase them" - name some? The PS2 classics on the PS4 were enhanced and had trophies added, so they weren't 'carried over'. The PS2 and 1 games on the PS3 'carried over' as you could pop in the disc and play them but you didn't have to re-purchase them. However, if you wanted the digital version you did as they weren't available to buy digitally on those original systems - just like the ori...

Considering both systems are supposedly going to play PS4 and XBone games, I expect nothing will happen as people will just continue playing.

It'll be down to costs. Don't forget, they can't just buy a game off the shelf and put it in their system to rent - they have to buy the games at much higher inflated rental prices, possibly even pay for licences, and then hope that enough people pay to make up their costs.

A lot of games will state on the disc or case "not for rental" meaning that companies like this are subject to a much higher price than 60 dollars a game. It has nothing to do with ...

They mean the original model style - so the one you can 'switch' - both the original launch version and the new version. Because it wasn't given a new name, the newer edition is still classed as the Original Switch.

No, it's just people misreading the patent and presuming it means PSVR is going to other platforms. All it said in the document is that the gesture mechanic is being patented for all platforms, so others can't copy them and claim it as their own. That's all it is.

Motion Sickness is all down to the devs and how they implement comfort settings. the vast majority of games have various settings to make them much easier to play for everyone including blinders, snap turning, teleportation, and smooth 90-120fps. PSVR now is nothing like it was on launch

Sony has always said that PSVR sod more than expected - it didn't 'under-perform' financially or in terms of active users

2208d ago 0 agree0 disagreeView comment

To those practically begging for PSVR on another platform - don't be silly. The reason they've issued a patent on the operation on all platforms will be so that the other companies can't make their own headset and implement the same mechanics. If it only included the PS4/5 then there would be nothing stopping MS from creating a 1:1 copy if they decide to do VR.

I've just looked at the patent - page 9 is where it mentions other consoles and the various compu...

I wouldn’t say it was last minute, still a year for production so the final design will most likely be set around Feb. It’s not like the console where the design has to be done really far in advance so the case can be designed as well.

Also, nobody going to mention the the face that this new ‘leak’ has no home button yet it now has the light bar back...

Finally, why was the article approved with a misguided and clickbait image as the title image? That’s ...
