Unlikely. PS4 will have to build from a base of 0 gamers.
PC already have millions playing it. Steam alone has 50 million PC users. It would take PS4 years to catch up to that base alone and its not like Steam will stop growing in the mean time.
Now add in the other networks and its easy to see PS4 or any other console may never catch up with the PC user base.
The advantage PC holds is there are no gens hence user bases dont get reset as on ...
First just because a game is exclusive doesnt mean its the best game out there in its genre unless you are a fanboy of course.
I would personally play BF3 on a PC over KZ anyday, shooter is the most popular genre out there i think PC has the best game on it with BF3. So PS3 having KZ as exclusive becomes rather meaningless as PC version of BF3 is far better. Same examples can be drawn for the other games on your list.
Second none of those games you mentioned ...
Apparently People now consider 1.6ghz tablet CPUs equipped with Mobile GPUs beastly.
They frowned upon Nintendo when Nintendo annouced such low clocked CPU for their console. However the mantra all of a sudden changed when Sony does it, Go figure.
"a unfinished vapourware real time demo(ps4) vs unoptimized video of a overly unrealistic maxed out 8000 dollar/pound pc one.. Yawn... Why?"
Fixed
By the way, by the time Unreal 4 engine is in use i am sure 500-700usd PCs will be maxing it out just like what happened current gen.
@thechenone
Thats not the point, My point was PC isnt a platforms for the Devs to ignore. It sells just as good as the consoles. Sure they may exchange places in sales, however bottomline is devs cant afford to ignore any of the platforms.
PC hardware is very scalable. Games run very well on old hardware too and still look good. You dont need crossfire/sli setups to run games, unless you want to be gaming on multiscreens maxed out.

Devs tend to target all platforms, cause thats where the money is.
PC games sell just as well as any other platform. Infact EA said PC was their 2nd most profitable platform just behind the Xbox 360. PS3 was 3rd.
Activision claimed PC was their most profitable platform.
Valve is another dev that probably sells most to PC even putting Steam aside.
So its not like PC isnt profitable, its just that there is more money targeting ...
Well its not much. I have a monster rig hooked up to 3, 3D screens 24inch each of them. Each screen cost about 350usd.
My TV is a 60inch Samsung 3DTV, have a HTPC hooked upto that.
Play shooters,rts, mmo, moba, racers on my PC with the 3x 3D screens.
For games like Hitman, Tombraider play them on the 60inch TV full 1080p since the source is a powerful HTPC.
I am a PC gamer hence not biased to ward any of the consoles. I think PS fans on this site have been rather biased and unreasonable.
When there is a bad rumor for the Xbox they will pretty much rejoice at it, however when a good rumor surfaces most of them will say "oh let MS confirm" lol. Funny how any good rumor for PS is taken as confirmation.
There is actually high chance the next Xbox will feature BC. Reason being Xbox 360 was already very clos...
Not to take anything away from this guy, Its obvious hes done a lot of work on this.
However my observations are:
1. The controller is darn cluncky, doesnt look fun to play with at all.
2. The console hardware within that box is 30 years old, anything can fail at any time. So much effort for an unreliable machine, doesnt make much sense.
3. Its a huge box moving it around can take an effort and may actually damage something i...
"Uncharted 1 doesn't EVEN HAVE MP, so fail on your part. lol"
Yet consolers will mention the game every time platforms are brought up. As if they still play the game lol.
@EDMIX
BF4 isnt even out yet, its running on alpha code. I remember when BF3 was in Beta my 5870 was having a hard time playing it.
However once the game released, the same 5870 played the game in 1080p 60 fps almost max settings.
Consoles dont magically get stronger every year. Sure when the next consoles release there will be a graphics jump which will cause PC gamers to upgrade too. However once they do get a more powerful GPU than what is...
1. There is no screen tearing
2. sustained FPS above 60 (we dont see the drops to 10fps as on console).
3. 64 players.
4. Can go upto resolutions not seen even on next gen consoles 5760*1080.
@Lila
So consoles dont have RROD, YLOD, Firmware crashes, Patching issues?
1. Every platform has its exclusives. PC actually offers all the genres that you play on console, However consoles dont have any reply to the genres PC has to offer example Moba, RTS, MMO, Simulators.
2. PC graphics are still way ahead. You are deluding yourself if you think otherwise.
3. You are pretty much combining exclusives all consoles then tryi...
@army of darkness
Thats a sad conclusion. On the contrary PC gamers are quite happy new consoles are finally out and the games industry can progress again. Hell nvm Pc gamers, even console gamers are pretty much depressed by now being locked down to 7 year old tech.
So why would a PC gamer be scared of a console that does 720p or 30 fps in its games and doesnt have much games at launch since no bc.
All Pc gamers are doing is knocking some se...
Well thats what happens with hardware designed for "one size fits all".
Its the nature of consoles, to cut and save where possible. This is what developers call optimization. There are various places where they may cut ie:
-framerate
-textures
-AA
-AF
-Tessellation
-DOF
-RES
-Physx
Devs on console tend to do this. Last gen was all about cutting down on all of these things and c...
This probably has to do with the Tablet CPU in the PS4.
Even on PCs, no matter how powerful a GPU. If the CPU isnt strong enough, the frame rate will be low.
The PS4 comes with a good GPU well its mid range. However the CPU is really low end. They probably gave it a Tablet CPU because their focus was 30fps game play. Since most people dont know the difference between 30 and 60fps. Hell most people dont even know what fps is.
Which is why they...
"it will be a disappointment if the PS4 cant achieve that goal is a standard for PC gaming"
Well most Mid range GPUs today will easily do 1600p gaming as long as AA is kept a bit down.
I would think PS4 will be doing 1080p 30fps or 720p 60fps.
I cant believe people actually think Windows is some huge hog. Windows barely needs 1.5gigs of RAM, Windows 8 even less so.
Most PC these days easily come with more than 8 Gigs of RAM. Hence Windows pulling 1.5Gigs of RAM hardly matters.
People need to look past that. Windows gives you advantages too. People gaming on PCs have access to a library of games from 25 years back. Its all possible because of a solid platform Windows has become.
Its...
@highlife
90% games released today are multiplatform. PC platform covers just about covers them all and has superior versions.
The only ones not making it to the PC are few exclusives from Sony. PC easily has its own exclusives to compensate for that. Its not like PS is the only one with exclusives if thats really what matters to most people on N4G.
