Cost me about 800usd to make a PC with a 8800GTX when PS3 launched (PS3 was 600usd at launch, could never do everything a PC can), PS3 games cost alot more then PC versions. Check out the deals on Steam and D2D, PC is easily cheaper and superior in the long run.
Pc is actually 1080p and beyond 60 fps at 1080p will be easy.
Hardware like 6950 CF will easily be pushing 60fps plus at resolutions like 5760*1080, which is 3 times higher res then 1080p.
Funny most of you PS3 fans dish gears, however when when you need to defend consoles you praise the same title lol. Hippocrate much?
Every platform has its exclusives. This year PC has had awesome games. Dawn of war 2 retribution, Shogun 2, Witcher 2. BF3 which will be like exclusive on PC since its different then console version.

If the Cell was so powerful you would be seeing First person shooters running in 1080p. Its not hard i could list you PC hardware from the PS3 release time which is doing 1080p in 95% of its games. Guess what PS3 only manages that in 5% of its games. So much for the power of the ce...

Well isnt it obvious 5 year old hardware will have drawbacks. Though i am sure a 8800GTX will still be playing this game in 1080p better graphic settings then console version and still be pulling 30fps+.

Chartz for kids doesnt track DD. Since DD is far more profitable a console retail game would have to outsell PC DD version 2-3 times to make the same profit.
Modders do it to prove themselves and hopefully get a job in some gaming company, hence their work is used by others for free.
Rockstar being a business would have to see some sort of financial initiative before even trying.
It only does everything :P including free HD remakes. Time to pick up GTA San Andreas on Steam.

Why should they provide BC when they can charge in terms of HD remakes? Specially if people will gladly pay.

Youd have to be blind not to be able to see a big difference between PC version of metro 2033 running maxed out and the xbox 360 version. Its not the same expereience at all.
Personally you should checkout metro 2033 running on PC in 3D it looks amazing. From what i recall metro 2033 on Xbox 360 is barely running in 540p.
Development cost is over rated. Its dev crap at best.
How is it such a great looking game like witcher 2 can be developed with only 8 million usd. Its possibly the best looking game out this year.
Crysis 1 which is still one of the best looking games out cost only 6-8million usd.
Metro 2033 didnt cost much.
Bottom line is todays devs are spending way too much money on marketing a game and paying Sony & MS royaltie...
Console gaming is actually very costly once you consider how much extra you pay per game.
Imo any serious gamer buys about 20 games a year atleast. With that sort of number paying extra per game on console can get very costly.
I would rather buy a 150-200usd gpu for the PC already at home then save on every game bought. Now that doesnt mean i dont have to own a console. Consoles are good for their exclusives.
