Dedicated servers are only confirmed for PC as of now. Atleast i havent heard of it for consoles.

Anyways with 32 vs 32 battles on PC with larget maps no way dedicated servers can be left out.

@substance

Lol true after all the extra people do pay to get the game on console, they dont even know if the game will be playable next gen on the next box.

Hope you do know there is thing todays GPUs do have, its called HDMI port the same one thats on consoles too.

PS1 and PS2 classics are playable on PC as well on the PCSX emulator.

Except the difference is:

PC platform: only needs to rely on ISP

Console: needs to rely on ISP & MS or Sony

So you are effectively relying on 2 different points for your online needs instead of just 1.

Nope its not, Even if Steam went down. As long as you have the CD keys to the games you bought. you can always download those games, use your CD keys to go online and play.

As an example if Steam was down. You could always still play BC2 on the EA servers. Same goes for any other game.

PC gaming isnt reliant on Steam to go online. With Console you are limited to the network if it goes down, you cant do anything then.

Dont think you can do that with PSN being down. Need to register the PS3 copy first then link it to Steam. Atleast thats how i understand it is done.

True most games out these days are crap, and optimization is even worse.

Personally i am a PC gamer, I am not buying new games until they are on discount, bugs have been ironed out and mature drivers for those games are out to. Specially i refrain from buying games that come out with little to no graphics options at all.

Question?

Why buy a 500usd console at launch, when you could get a great PC for 700-800 usd. then have all games cheaper too, nvm putting yourself at the complete mercy of a company to even host stuff like online, the stuff you can play on the machine that you bought, pay to go online, no mods, no gaurantees of BC.

5388d ago 12 agree34 disagreeView comment

Nope thanks to the tards who agree to pay for maps lol.

"It cost a ton because the fools keep buying it. "

It cost a ton because people this gen actually agreed to pay for what was free before.

Previously online gaming was limited to PC, at which point stuff like Maps etc used to made by users hence was free. This still is happening however its not on the mainstream, it happens on games like TF2.

Edit: its not like Mods arent possible on console, UT3 proved it is possible. However...

Go ask Microsoft lol, why did they cancel plans for cross gameplay between PC and 360 users?

In their testing the best of the best control pad gamers got thrashed against average PC gamers using Mouse Kb. now if control Pad users are given handicap assist(aim assist), then they will be able to put up a fight.

Lol Sony fangirls out in full force over the past few days since they cant play online rofl.

PC version wins just like 99% of the time. Source engine runs liquid smooth on just about any hardware.

@Jdub

You could make a 2000usd PC not give it a proper GPU and it will perform worse then your PS3.

Question is what spec did you create. I could list you parts for a 500usd build and it will run circles around the PS3.

True, Valve is probably the last remaining PC developer who hasnt scumbed to the current console milking trend.

Nearly every other developer releases DLCs day one, with a rehash of the game the following year. Valve actually give the PC gamers free content and support their games.

What goes around comes around.

Sony expected People to get 2 jobs to buy the PS3. Now they themselves are tied with overtime.

@nickjkl

MS already did, go ask them what happened with Xbox and PC crossplay. It went down the toilet because the best of the best controlpad gamers couldnt keep up with average PC gamers lol.

Agreed its a good article to get an understand about the different forms of AA.

5413d ago 1 agree0 disagreeView comment

Expect console gamers to pick up articles from 2006 praising console tech as next gen(which it really wasnt even at that time) and apply those articles to todays time lol.
