In my opinion Quake 3 was the beginning of the end. I bought all iD's stuff up till then including the add-ons but they changed their focus from making great games to making a game engine they could license out. They realised where the money was and forgot about the gameplay and innovation.

Epic kept innovating with Unreal Tournament, adding new gameplay modes with each new version, enhancing team play aspects of the game and releasing free content in droves whilst also making ...

Looking forward to this game after trying the demo

Microsoft need to open up their network a bit more for developers and for their customers who pay good money to use their service. Its unacceptable that these limitations mean 360 owners won't get the same kind of content users of the PS Network get for FREE. Its not like Microsoft doesn't have the infrastructure to do this.

I think there must be some American posters here judging by the comments suggesting prison is a bad place, far from it. Modern day prison in the UK is a pathetic joke. Prisoners have access to DVD's and games console's, gym's, pool tables and regular meals (and not slop either, currys, full roasts etc) Modern prison life is a holiday camp. Sadly this scumbag will most likely come out with greater knowledge of criminal life and never play an honest and decent role in society. Feel free to disa...

N4G would be a much better place without sites such as HipHopGamer, Hardcore Christian Gamer, BruceOnGames. All of those sites post news aimed to incite and should be stopped from posting until they clean up their act.

If they had just stripped away a few studio's that perhaps were not performing well it would be understandable but they've just demolished their gaming division. Ensemble, Bungie, Bizarre created successful franchises. Sony have around 20 studio's and to the average gamer that shows commitment to their product.

Its easy to close down a studio working on a franchise where each game is really a stand alone product. In the case of MS Flight sim it was a series of games and the thing that kept customer coming back instead of going to X-Plane was that they were able to use their old add-on products and port across a lot of their settings and hardware without too much hassle. A new studio making a new Flight Sim simulation will waste time digging into the old code to see what hooks they need to put in for...

At first glance it almost seems like MS want to pull away from the gaming side of things with so many studio's being closed but then they do still own all the important IP's like Flight Simulator, Halo, Project Gotham Racing etc so perhaps the bean counters figure its cheaper to hire a team in to further those titles than run a studio full time.

I agree with your comments on this article but please don't approve nonsense like this, N4G will never get any better while trash journalism is promoted here.

People complain about HipHopGamer and yet articles like this get approved? Yes I've read the article and it reads like someone who so desperately wanted to slate KillZone 2 and has to reluctantly say its not bad at all. Sites like this feed the fanboy flames so just stop approving nonsense like this. If this was 'Hardcore Christian XBOX Gamer' I'd understand but if you're trying to promote yourself as a multi platform site then drop the BS.

If you have an open mind about gaming and gaming platforms its easy to weed out the biased sites out there and then its your choice whether to visit them. I don't particularly like HHG's style of presentation because hip-hop is not my kind of thing but you have to have some respect for someone who goes out there each week and create's a video show for people to watch.

I'd rather visit some of these up and coming gaming sites than the likes of Gamespot and Kotaku who are either...

It was Halo Wars and RACE Pro that contributed to me deciding to get another 360 after two years away from the XBOX scene. Jaded by two RROD's I bought a PS3, still glad I did as there are some great exclusives there and in another article about Killzone 2 on N4G it seems some 360 fans are going the other way. I thought the Halo Wars demo was great and I'm looking forward to the full game when its released. I think it finally puts the nail in the coffin of the myth that you can't control an R...

I don't like HHG, hip hop is not my kind of thing and he does come across as a little biased but he doesn't try to hide it and puts forward his views on his web-site. Gaming journalism is a cess pit right now, too many bad apples cast doubt over the few honest review sites there are. Too much shady dealing with money changing hands in the form of sponsorship and advertising. Gamespot and Kotaku are supposed to be respected gaming sites yet both have a reputation for their bias against the PS3...

RACE Pro doesn't even come close to GT5P's graphics but I've still pre-ordered RACE Pro anyway.

Sales are not really that important to me but it does mean the potential for more people online to play against.

I may now have to reconsider my next upgrade. It was going to be an iPhone but I may just take out a 6 month contract and see if Apple reelase a new model later in the year. I already have an iPod and love iTunes, the number of apps and games available is great but really how many of those 1500 games compare anywhere close to the quality of the DS and PSP games?

Its quite astounding that the 360 still sold so well through 2007 and 2008 despite all the negative press about its RROD problems. I went through two myself, jumped ship to the PS3 but now with the price drop I'm thinking of buying one again. My dilema now is whether to buy an Elite (likely to be a Falcon?) which would match my TV, stand, PS3 and Sky HD box or buy a Jasper Arcade and buy the HDD etc separately which comes out near enough the same price. Curiously a number of stores in this ar...

Some good points in that list, though some I don't agree with. A web browser in game would hardly ever be used but if it didn't take too much development time to implement it may be useful for some gamers. Cross game chat would be nice but cross game invites like the 360 has would be better. Definately don't agree on the mouse keyboard support for any game. The reason I enjoy FPS's more now on the console formats than PC (I've been a PC FPS player since the first Wolfenstein and Doom games) i...

Major bit of backpeddling and desperately trying to save face with the 'social experiment' nonsense. If you can't stand the heat then stop writing, simple really.

Hmm pretty lousy reviews there but this game still has me wanting to buy a 360 (that and Halo Wars) There is a poor selection of wheels for the 360, the best being the Fanatec which really is the only option. The official 360 wheel just isn't that great unless you can get it really cheap because at least then later down the line of you enjoy racing games you can buy just the Fanatec Porsche 911 Turbo S Wheel 'Pure edition' which is just the wheel but comes with an adaptor to hook up the MS wh...
