If it was a club on Microsoft's XBL it would cost $50 to make a club, you'd need be nagged with pop ups to activate it and if you tried to access your club on another 360 you'd need another license.

You can run Windows based games on Linux through programs like WINE and Cedega, not perfect of course as you will loose a little bit of performance but even new games like Left 4 Dead, CoD4 etc run on Cedega. If you have a pretty good system and dislike Windows enough its an option.

Its ugly and it takes up a USB port. The official version may be a bit more expensive but you free up a USB port, it looks better and works as a mouse touchpad. That Logic 3 version also moves the pad further away from the controller so unlike the official one you will be moving your hands around a lot more.

I would rather not see it as a phone, it would be too bulky to carry around for that. I'd rather see it released as a gaming device first and foremost and let that dictate the design. A second analogue is a must, I think dropping the UMD drive in favour of a HDD or a very large amount of RAM would be a good thing. With a second analogue and improvements to the Remote Play feature you could play your PS3 games on the move. If it doesn't take up the room for something more important built in GP...

Sky news, says it all really. No facts to back the claim because they know if they post it up people will take it as fact because its come from a big news site - a big news site that is part of a corporation that is trying to push its HD satellite HD boxes into people's homes which includes many subscription based movie channels so of course they won't want to promote a disc format.

I still have my pre-order with Play.com, they emailed me a few days ago to tell me it had been delayed and they have a date of 16/01/09 for its release.

You just have to roll your eyes when someone uses the term 'period' as if to negate any further discussion because its usually done when the persons mind is closed.

Blog or not the position this person holds is pretty important to the integrity of the site and as such brings up fresh doubt over the so called errors in the past such as not showing PS3 video's using full settings, using PS3 footage and passing it off as 360 footage etc.

I think the online games med...

It may just be my perception but the trade-in practice seems to be more popular on the various console formats, and more so the two most expensive formats the PS3 and 360. In my local game retailer the shelves are full of PS3 and 360 second hand games yet the PC and cheaper consoles such as the Wii second hand sections are not so large.

You're never going to stop it, especially for titles which are updated each year like FIFA and PES etc but the developers could try harder to ...

Worms - definately, Bomberman gets old quickly and while I bought Doom on XBLA is had issues and the novelty soon wore off like many of the arcade classics that you can play using an emulator such as MAME.

Agreed, MS shot themselves in the foot by restricting the file size. They had the lead over Sony with their service but Sony has developed it with a far better interface that makes the XBLA look clunky and very basic but also gives the customer the choice between some cheap innovative titles and also full price AAA titles.

XBLA is swamped with quick and dirty retro coin-op conversions, thats not to say they don't have some great titles like Geometry Wars but Sony have made their store a place to not only buy innovative games but AAA titles also. The writer of that article needs to do more research.

Poorly researched article - who the hell is 'sockboy'? Little Big Planet wouldn't work on the Nintendo format. Its online system is pathetic and it has no real storage capability but besides that can you imagine it getting past Miyamoto's ego? Do you think he's going to like users coming up with more interesting levels than he does? This would have to be a Mario inspired game and player creativity seriously reduced. Nintendo like innovation - just as long as they can take the credit for it.

The usual suspects come out to jump on negative PS3 related news like the idiotic 360 fans they are. We don't get SOCOM for a month yet in the UK but I'm keeping my pre-order running, afterall most retailers are selling this AAA game and Bluetooth headset for £5 less than the official 360 wireless headset.

When I had my first RROD I just thought I was unlucky, it happened within 6 months. I took it back to the shop and got a replacement. Another 5 months passed and I got another RROD. I got another store replacement that started having disc read errors so it got traded in for a PS3. A year has passed without any issues and I hope it stays that way but if it fails I'll just drop the console format altogether and go back to being just a PC gamer - there is never any excuse to accept faulty hardwa...

I have no animosity for Valve, indeed I've been a happy Steam customer since it first opened and still use the service today. Its not a matter of him 'dissing' (what a childish word that is anyway) PS3 owners or the PS3. Its Valve's reluctance to fix the Orange box on the PS3 format - be it by getting EA to fix the problem or doing it themselves in-house. Half-Life is Valve's IP, its their most recognised brand and ignoring the hordes of PS3 users who have complained/signed petition's about i...

It seems like a pointless excercise. The casual gamers the Wii appeals to don't really care for graphics. So the WiiHD will just play the same tired old Mario and Zelda games but in HD. Wii Sports was fun for a few hours then gets old - quickly. If Sony and Microsoft had launched their own motion controllers soon after the Wii launched they would have demolished Nintendo and its one trick pony - the Wii

I've bought lots of joypads over the years for my PC and nothing comes close to the quality of one of the console pads such as the 360 or PS3 pads. I love Logitech's mice and steering wheels but their pads leave a lot to be desired and Saitek's offering's just feel cheap and flimsy and not as responsive. Microsoft and Sony spend millions in R&D because the pad is the primary input device for their machines and it shows.

I don't see what game developers can do to stop this kind of profiteering by the likes of Gamestop (and GAME and GAMESTATION in the UK) but something has to be done. These shops will pay you a fraction of the cost for the game on trade in then mark it up to just a few pound short of the full RRP. They do nothing to warrant this price hike. Gamestops defense of used car sales is flawed. Do used car showrooms sell used cars for just a few pound short of the new price? no you get a pretty big sa...

The comparison is valid. Ignore the fact that its Wipeout on the PS3 and look at the gameplay on offer here. On one hand you have a quick and easy port of an old PC title in the form of Duke Nukem 3D and on the other you have a game like Wipeout HD - a modern title really showing off the power of the console its played on with far greater replay value for a few pounds more. I'll admit to a few impulse buys on XBL myself such as Doom and Golden Axe to name two but as I said the novelty value q...
