You just know the majority of the people claiming they will boycott L4D 2 will buy it. Many are likely snivelling kids who have already traded the game in for the 360 so where's the loyalty there?

I'm buying this game the day it releases, it looks great and that may well be the game engine producing it but it wasn't real drivers, the turns were too millisecond perfect, mirror images, not an inch out of place it may well have been the game engine but it was AI coded to put on that show. Even if the developer told me to my face it was human drivers I'd have a hard time believing him with all the crap they have been spewing about how great their game is and the smack talk about Gran Turis...

I really love the idea of the game, its tactical emphasis, large open terrain but I was really let down by the first one, thats not to say the second will be the same but the reviews so far seem to indicate its very buggy. I really wanted to like this game but the tactical edge was ruined by the stupid AI, poor performance and a lot of bugs which took a long long time to fix.

I so want this to be better than the first buggy, poorly optimised ARMA game they released but the reviews don't look good. Great screenshots are easy to create on any PC, I'd be more impressed to see video with some system specs and a frame rate counter.

This is pretty poor support. Luckily when I had my two RROD's it was within the 12 month store return window so thats what I did. Contrast that to Sony (who in the UK) send you a refurbished unit to your door by courier who then takes the old unit away. If Microsoft are doing this in the US (according to potenquatro above) then why didn't they do this everywhere? to now not even send out a box to protect it is pretty poor and I wonder if they will use the excuse of poor packaging to refuse re...

I'm buying it too and I only bought the first game a few months ago and I've had my money's worth out of it.

Well I'm still buying it, two discs or not but disc swapping is soo last-gen.

Kotaku would find fault even if Sony announced that all Kotaku staff would be given a free gold bar at the E3 conference and that Jack Tretton would personally lick the sweat from their armpits.

Seriously, E3 is an exhibition for the publishers and developers of hardware and software. From a gaming point of view it should be a celebration of new and exciting hardware and software that we'll get to play with over the next year but too many sites put a negative spin on things and...

I'll be buying Forza 3 and GT5 but damn Forza 3 came along and added the much wanted c0ckpit view and looked great too and a day later GT5 just straps on some rocket boosters and jets off to a whole new level, WRC and NASCAR...wow!

I think it looks great ,as does NATAL. I'll probably end up buying them both because I'd rather do that and play some current gen titles than play last gen titles on an overclocked gamecube. Nintendo are going to run out of steam, they have no place to go as Sony improved the current tech and Microsoft have taken another approach altogether. Great times to be a gamer

Champ> I'm not going to write it off completely but Operation Flashpoint had its fair share of problems and a whole host of patches. Arma still runs and plays like a dog so while I hope they do fix this as I love the whole large scale battle scenario I won't hold my breath on Bohemia fixing this game either.

Judging by their last game I'd say no

The market always slows down at this time of year though. I'm not saying things are not worse this year but its a little early to be doing the chicken little sky falling in routine?

I think the next generation of consoles will still have the need for physical media - the world is still not ready for 100% digital distribution so yes they need a bigger format. If they went with a 'super DVD' format discussed a while ago which is being developed by Smasung IIRC then the user misses out on playing Blu-Ray films and the next XBOX will fail as a multimedia platform.

@4.3

My point went sailing over your head, its not about performance its about the games being very broken that leads to gamers becomming disenchanted and not wanting to waste their money buying a game only to find out its bug filled.

In regards to performance, don't kid yourself that in a few years it will run any better when you upgrade. I was very much into a flight sim called Lock On but had to run it on low settings. At the time my system wasn't that great s...

Halo 3 graphically was a big let down for me too

Yes they are aware now they have let the consumers test it for them. Fans will put a positive spin on this like they always do and say "look how committed they are, they are fixing it already" but they look past the fact that the developer has released the game to the public to test and then fix it later because they cut costs on their own QA. It is unacceptable and gamers should be boycotting products like this, even after its patched wait and see if Operation Flashpoint 2 is a via...

Yet another in a long line of PC titles released with a 'release now, patch later' mentality. The first game was buggy as hell and poorly optimised with lousy AI and they still have not learnt from past mistakes. Its not right to pirate games but is it any wonder piracy is so rife when developers churn out rubbish like this?

I think you'll find I did, deal with it

I bought the first game in the series but won't be buying this for the same reason I refused to buy Crysis. If the developers can't code for the hardware we have now then what is the point? by buying this game you're giving the green light to developers to release sloppy un-optimised code with a 'release now, patch it later' mentality. When developers have this attitude its no wonder their games are pirated - not that its ever right to pirate a game but the developers don't help themselves so...
