Sadly those days are gone for PC's too. I remember buying a Microprose sim meant you got a glossy 500+ manual in a big box, it made you feel like you got your moneys worth from it. Still have my original Falcon 4.0 manual.
It won't be on the PC as the developers are working on a new sim called Storm of War: Battle of Britain which is due for release around Q3 2010. This game is made by different developers who licensed the existing IL-2 game engine for a console version and if its even half as realistic as IL-2 on the PC it will be the best flight sim on a console to date.
The media seize upon the gaming industry because its still relatively young compared to TV and while they can blame games it distracts attention away from TV stations showing increasingly violent and sexually provocative shows.
The title should be "Should Apple Re-Enter the Console Business?" they've been there once and failed.
Apple would have to break with tradition and actually compete on price and not its 'cool' factor and cult following of its other products. If they didn't do that then forget the stories of how the PS3 was over-priced because Apple are past masters at over-pricing.
With the current economic climate why would a publisher want to sink more money into deve...
The point is lost in an article when the writer has to resort to using vulgar language and personal attacks on the people complaining. Why is this nonsense published on N4G?
I'd like to see built in GPS and Bluetooth, as for how retail handle it well they can still play a part. Work with Sony and get internet connected booths in your stores. A booth could hold cached copies of the games that users could connect to via USB, log into their account and download straight from the booth instead of using up their bandwidth caps, similar booths could be found at airports etc so users could conveniently and quickly get new games. Stores could buy X ammount of licenses an...
Can't wait for this title, I'm still very much enjoying Forza 2 along with Gran Turismo 5 Prologue. If we get them both this year it would be fantastic.
Its a shame to see a format lose support but you can't blame EA when so much of their stuff is pirated.
Stupid stunts like this only serve to demean our Monarchy, shame on THQ
This site just keeps spewing anti Sony stuff, its as bad as HipHopGamer or BruceOnGames its soo biased.
Yes more space is always a good thing as long as its affordable. Does the writer of the article really think Sony and their partners are not going to continue to develop Blu-Ray as DVD did with larger capacities. Its all just hocus pocus pie in the sky stuff to imagine Blu-Ray will stand still while other hardware manufacturers try to blow life into the decrepid zombie of a f...
I wonder what effect (if any) this has on EA's license to use the NASCAR name? Or could this be a sign that EA has relinquished the license due to their financial problems. If they have it would be ironic as EA took the license from David Kaemmers Papyrus software.
I admit to being a sceptic on the run up to its launch but having got an invite to try it a month or two before it went public I quickly saw its huge potential for organised clean racing. The laser scanned tracks are second to none and the web interface is very slick and keeps getting better.
Its likely to be something like the aquisition of Yahoo as mentioned as I don't think Microsoft would put themselves in such a position financially for the home entertainment business i.e the XBOX but if you wanted a little conspiracy fun you could say that Peter Moore went to EA, Microsoft shed most of their game studio's and EA is often talked about being the target of a buyout.
Yes its very realistic though the first ArmA was sadly very buggy and very incomplete
Love the Motorstorm series and want to buy this but have to wait and see about this new PSP they are bringing out to decide on what format - assuming there is a choice. I already have a PSP 1000 but the rumoured PSP Go! looks fantastic
Give me buttons or at least a touch screen. Voice recognition fails in noisy area's or if you don't pronounce the words in just the way the program likes even if you train it. Even so if they manage to get it working well I'd still prefer to press a button that yell 'Call mum' while walking down the street.
Its a PC exclusive now? perhaps they didn't want to go head to head with Operation Flashpoint 2 as there seems to be quite a bitter rivalry between the two developers. ARMA is a buggy mess, poor AI, poor animation and poorly optimised. It runs like a pig on all but a super computer and just fails on so many levels I only bther installing it if a major patch comes out to see if they can finally fix it. Love the idea of the game just hate the execution of it.
Nice list, never played MULE or Rogue so I'd put in Geoff Grammonds Grand Prix as that was the racing game that really hooked me and got me playing multiplayer over a null modem lead. I'd perhaps put Quake in the list for its 3D graphics and for being the game that really brought internet multiplayer to the FPS genre and like Agent X would add IL-2 Sturmovik to the list in place of Myst which I felt was overrated. IL-2 or perhaps European Air War though I've spent more time in IL-2 than I eve...
Will definately buy it, perhaps even for my PS3 and 360. Loved the Battlefield series since the first game and to play Wake using the Frostbite engine will be a lot of fun.
It looks like a mix of Motorstorm and Need For Speed. Its far removed from the original games and I think they should drop the Colin McRae title now because its not what he was about and is not fit to carry his name. It looks a lot of fun to play but I feel we're losing a good rally game and having it replaced with a mish mash of other games that are all starting to look the same.
