I wouldn't mind seeing a HALO MMO, it would be silly of Microsoft not to make the most of a successful franchise. I hope they don't milk it like Nintendo does with Mario.

Thinking of buying a 360 again for this and RACE Pro. Ensemble were a great development team, I've played all the Age of Empires games and really sorry to see them go.

I have the 60GB PS3 with backwards compatibility but rarely use it. Backwards compatibility for any system is just a crutch for it at launch. Each new system launches and each time people moan about low numbers of games available so the manufacturers keep people happy and make it a selling point. This far down the line in a console's life with a decent catalogue of games there is little point in spending time and money making a console backwards compatible especially in the PS3's case where s...

Its a different catagory of sim to Forza 2 and GT5P, I hope it sells well as its an all out simulation of real world racing series and could be the start of many more sim developers seriously taking a look at the console formats be it 360 or PS3.

No game is worth 10/10, there are always improvements that could and should be made. I've never played the perfect game.

You have to wonder if Microsoft is clearing the decks in preparation of their withdrawal from the console scene. I hope this is not the case as the original XBOX's online capabilities really drove Sony and Nintendo to compete and embrace online play where as their consoles were mostly about the solitary use or with friends in the same location.

Pretty much agree with the points made, perhaps not entirely with the point about Blu-Ray but it does seem to be the case that games are now starting to outgrow the size of a DVD but the console makers could give you the main bulk of the game on DVD and then you download the extra parts as you need them.

Rechargeable batteries are a must. Once again Microsoft nickel and dime their users with add-on battery packs, the outrageously expensive wifi adaptor and the ludicrously expen...

As a former 360 owner who went through two RROD's before switching to the PS3 I will probably wait and see how Microsoft's next console performs before buying the brand again. I had some great gaming moments and played some great exclusives but every time I switched it on I had the dread of an RROD in theback of my mind. I don't think it will hurt sales of their next console as there are enough die hard fans who will buy it on day one. Over the last month or so I had been thinking of buying a...

Agree with most of the article except the first one. With the 360's notorious reliabilty problem who would want to take the risk? With hardware I'd rather buy new every time even on more reliable brands like the PS3 and Wii. You get the warranty and feel safe in the knowledge that nobody has mistreated it before you try to use it. With prices tumbling (especially the 360) I just don't see the point.

Damned if they do and damned if they don't. If they never fixed bugs or released new features then maybe you'd expect criticism but releasing new features and fixes freely? Idiotic! Perhaps the same writer will do an in-depth analysis of why Microsoft's fix for Vista (Windows 7) is going to cost over £100 eh?

Review sites must also catch some flack. I'm sure a lot of sites will mark down games like RACE Pro and IL-2:Birds of Prey just because they raise the difficulty bar, because they do not offer immediate rewards. For the sake of generating hits they will make the ill-founded comparison's to Forza, Gran Turismo etc. I hope that I'm right and that the average age of console owners has risen sufficiently that RACE Pro will be a success. Around the various racing and flight sim sites I frequent it...

Forza 2 and GT5P fit into a slightly different genre than RACE Pro. As someone who's played both games extensively I'd give the edge to GT5P out of the two but as I now only have a PS3 I have to admit to being very envious of seeing RACE Pro on the 360 and it may just prompt me to buy a 360 to compliment my PS3.

I've played all of Simbins games since they were just a team of amateur mod makers making their GTR mod for EA's F1 series. I remember people hunting for copies of EA's...

Microsoft needs to drop the file size limits and really let developers create. PSN lets you download full retail games so why can't Microsoft? surely with the years they have been in the business as primarily a software company they have the infrastructure to handle whatever files sizes developers can throw at them? Considering their customers are paying for their service they could use a little more of that bandwidth and give customers even better downloadable games?

Yes thats a stupid comment to make, Sony has been the reliable platform.

Forget the game, I've got a Logitech G25 and that wheel looking very nice, the fact its compatible across 360, PS3 and PC is an attractive feature. I didn't think that stand looked sturdy enough when I viewed it in the web-site but it looks like they did a good job and it looks very well made. It would have been nicer if the video showed the mechanism lever at the base of the wheel stand and how that locks in place. Overall they have an impressive product line there, the ClubSport pedals look...

Sony really need to kick up their advertising several notches for this release. Microsoft are always very very good with advertising and hyping games, you couldn't move without seeing an advert for HALO each time a new version was released and Sony need to do this. So many great titles like Uncharted, Little Big Planet, Motorstorm that were released with barely a whimper from Sony's advertising department.

Where are Sony's latest figures or is this spin with MS comparing their new figures to Sony's older ones?

6285d ago 1 agree0 disagreeView comment

Microsoft's concerns over security far outweigh the benefits of giving users a web browser. IE is so full of holes it would leave the 360 open to attack from hackers and has already been pointed out MS would not be able to charge you for viewing TV shows/movies through a browser so its not in their best interest to do this.

A similar story was told a few years ago so when I traded in my 360 for a PS3(after going through two RROD's) I made sure to ring MS and tell them I wanted my account set to Silver and make sure any outstanding money owed waspaid up in case I ever decided to use the XBOX Live service again. I use the passport account for MSN messenger so hopefully using that and receiving mail on there means I could re-activate that account should I ever buy another XBOX in future.

If they did label new 360's it would probably be under the guise of 'New and improved design' stickers rather than state the chipset, especially if in a few months we find out the Jasper chipset is not the cure for the RROD. It would be unlikely as retailers would be very upset if they get stuck with stock they can't sell as people leave non Jasper 360's on the shelf. As someone who once owned a 360 and went through two RROD's before switching to the Playstation brand it may be enough for me ...
