This is typical Bruce though, regurgitate the rumours you've alreay heard for the past week or if you have to write something original be as vague as possible then in a few months time proclaim how right you were because one of your vague commentaries based on rumours everyone else has heard have partially become true.

I've given ARMA II a second chance. It was a bug ridden mess when it first launched just like ARMA was. Its still not what you would call a solid working title but I do enjoy it a little more now its had a few patches and the performance isn't too bad now. As they stand now I'd give just give ARMA II the nod over OFP2. I think ARMA could be done on a console, OFP2 has proved they can handle large terrains and the number of keys could be handled with a decent GUI and with the Playstation Eye y...

Can you build bases at all in multiplay? I like building bases and really enjoyed Dawn of War and I've been thinking of buying this but today watched a video review and heard the reviewer say there was no base building and that it played more like an action RPG.

Yeah I'm not a fan of corded controllers, it needs to be wireless. Microsoft allowed Fanatec to make the wheel wireless for the 360 without any additional adaptors required so why would they not allow a gamepad?

It wouldn't matter. Infinity Ward and Activision are already laughing all the way to the bank with the sales of Call of D00dy Modding Glitchware 2. We're just the suckers who bought the game.

I hope Battlefield sells well for DICE. I've been a fan of the series since BF1942 but have to admit straying to Modern Warfare when that was released. I'm now back in Battlefield Bad Company waiting for the sequel and can't wait. It might even be the first game I buy for all three platfor...

Vista really hurt PC gaming in my opinion. Gamers didn't want all the hassle that came with Vista so they stuck with their trusty install of XP despite Microsoft trying to force them into upgrading by only making DX10 available for Vista. Developers didn't really embrace DX10 because of the numbers of their customers sticking with XP running DX9.

Steam does have some good sales but then every store has sales and outside of those sales periods Steam's prices are not that good. They tend to be full retail prices for an electronic download product. Where is my cash saving for no disc and DVD cover? At worst I've seen prices on Steam that are the full retail RRP so when a game here can be bought off the shelf for £39.99 brand new Steam are selling its electronic download cousin for the full £49.99 RRP.

I do like S...

I wonder how much of this decision is based on used game sales hurting their new release. I went into a game store the other day and saw used copies of '09 lined up on the shelves in a far more prominent position than the '10 version.

"With any Intel or AMD dual Core over or overclocked to 2.8GHz and at least 9600GT or HD3870 you can max every game at 1680 by 1050 with no AA and no AF"

Well thats not reall max then is it? its not full HD for a start and with no AA or AF visuals even at high resolution won't look their best. I'd love to see your benchmarks running DCS:Blackshark maxed out on that rig, the game would eat it and spit the processor and GPU back at you pin by pin. To top it off you then...

Yeah kids forget that their 'kewl' gamertag is often going to get them killed because people just won't shout warning or can't read their gamertag because of the messy upper and lower case characters mixed with numbers. In the middle of a game I'm more likely to called out 'hey Josh there's a sniper in that tower' than feel a right plum shouting 'hey...<pause while I decipher their gamertag> l33tSn1q3rurm0m there's a sniper in that tower' also sometimes I target players just because the...

Whats all the more disappointing is when you re-visit an older game and it still runs like a dog. I like flight sims and I a few of them that although released a few years ago still run like dogs on full settings.

While I sympathize with the developers having to cater for a wide range of hardware in PC's there are still only two real choices for CPU and graphics. I do feel that a lot of PC developers have become lazy and go for the 'release now and patch it later' mentality th...

It won't replace the controller and the majority of games produced after Natal will almost certainly cater for gamepad and Natal control unless written specifically to show off Natal's capabilities. Lazy gamers like me generally want to sit on the sofa with a controller and not run around waving our arms and legs like we're having a fit.

I will buy Natal for the novelty value games written for it are likely to bring and I can see how maybe it could be used in FPS games alongsid...

@ 10.1> If people won't buy the game because it lacks things like dedicated servers, or they feel its a console port or for whatever other reason then don't buy the game. Don't make a hypocrite of yourself by grumbling about this or that missing feature and then go and play the game! All you're doing is addingto the online numbers and showing to the developer that the game is still popular despite as many boycott campaigns as you can shake a stick at. I have to laugh at some of the Steam M...

Nothing can justify piracy, those who pirated MW2 are just making the situation worse. The only message it sends out to developers is to concentrate less on developing for formats where piracy is rife and to include more copy protection if they decide to make any future titles for that format which only harms the honest gamers who buy their products. If you don't like a game then make a stand and don't buy it, pirating it only makes you a hypocrite.

For me personally it was nice to have it but I rarely use it on my 60GB PS3. I know some users like to play older games but I think BC is more of a crutch to the console maker to give users more than just a few launch titles to play at launch but once the console has been out a while and its games catalogue grows I don't think there will be that many users using backwards compatibility.

I bought the limited Edition the day it came out and I'm a big fan of the series as a whole but why did Turn 10 need to announce this? have they not learned from all their chest beating? Of course they saw an increase in users over Christmas, just about every game could say that because people buy games as gifts. I'm sure Uncharted 2 saw an increase too, I asked for a copy for Christmas. I'm sure many other games saw the same thing such as Modern Warfare 2. Its really a nothing statement to m...
