No base building, LAN support, persistent internet connection - this is NOT Command & Conquer. If they really wanted to make this kind of departure from the series then make it a sub series or an add-on and call it something like 'Command & Conquer: Squad Commander. They took the essence of Command & Conquer and threw it away to make a 'me too' type answer to Relic's Dawn of War II. Give me a patch that puts that back into the game and you have a sale, until then WTG EA on screwin...
I bought MAG but didn't give it the time it deserved to start with and so it sat on my shelf for a while. I decided to re-visit the game and I have been surprised at how its drawn me back in and made me want to play it. I don't see why people don't rate the graphics, the textures are very good and overall I think it holds up to most online games. Millions of people play Halo and that game is hardly a graphical masterpiece but its still a lot of fun to play.
I'm starting to feel ...
Infinity Ward got themselves into this mess Treyarch work to the same schedule as Infinity Ward yet MW2 was not only full of cheats and glitches it was also poorly play balanced. Its as if IW got carried away with the perk system and came up with completely ridiculous perks, kill streaks and combinations which resulted in a poorly balanced online game which is hard to fathom after they made Cod4 work so well online with just a few minor issues that needed fixing.
Pricing gouging explained? please someone point out where that was done? I only saw marketing spiel and a non-answer "people are going to get their money's worth" really?? from two old maps you've ported across?
This is pathetic. After the months of glitches, cheats, poor play balancing for a game that already had an inflated price Infinity Ward should be coming out with their tails between their legs and offering it for free (like DICE) or at least at a very cheap pric...
I'm a Blackberry Storm user at the moment but I'm considering either an Android based handset or an iPhone in around 5 months time. It does concern me that Android developers have to cater for a wider variety of handsets and handset capabilities over the iPhone whose hardware and software are set in stone. What is the Android app market like now? I'm not really looking for games, more an all round utility phone for my email, web browsing and Sat Nav would be a bonus and what kind of document ...
"PC hardcore" lol, do you not even grasp how pathetic a title that is. We're all just gamers, some use different hardware to others but if you take the time to not only read a channel you have no interest in but to also report news in that channel then you have issues.
I have Battlefield Bad Company 2 on PC and 360, I love the series and have played the Battlefield series since the first one on the PC years ago but I also own MAG on my PS3 and while I didn't take to it ...
I still have the game but I've not played it for months now. The BFBC2 demo and then full game keeps me entertained on my 360 and tonight I found myself getting back into MAG again after not really taking to it at first. I keep MW2 just in case IW decide to fix it but I doubt that will happen. Too many glitches and poor play balancing. I've not played it for some time and neither have most of my online friends.
@ 1.5> Variables?? you have to be kidding the only variable is the wide choice you have, for much less than the price of that MS 250GB drive you have the choice of a number of well known brands with at least twice or even three times the capacity for the price. Amazon even sell HDD's listed as PS3 compatible, it really could not be easier. I don't think I'll be upgrading my Elite's 120GB HDD unless the price drops significantly and I think the only people crazy enough to buy it would be th...
If you don't like it don't buy the game. I things its a good idea to get sales and therefore money back into the pockets of the developers rather than the shops who here in the UK actively push used copies. My local game shop (a well known high street store here in the UK) asks me every time I take a new copy to the desk if I want a used copy when it only saves me a few £ off if its a new game. Typically a new release here is £39.99 with the stores selling a used copy at £37.99...
Looking at his site and the petition for libel reform I'd hazard a guess he lost the first round against Evony in court in the UK yesterday.
Bruce you have brought this upon yourself. Your original article on Evony that sparked this legal action was way over the top and you could have nipped this in the bud by removing it or at least removing the parts you had no proof for. You could have still been very critical of Evony without being libelous in Evony's view. A man of your expe...
Its by the same person, so its hardly validating the original story
Its not C&C any more, they tried to change things around and its just not the same game. I've been a fan of the series since the first, bought every C&C game released but I won't be buying this one. Command & Conquer 3 was the last true Command & Conquer game, they have ruined the franchise with this last release.
Command & Conquer ended with number three for me, this is not C&C. To make the final game of the series they tried to re-invent the wheel and failed.
Just gotta love those kids that scream 'camper' when you're playing a team objective based game.
I loved Modern Warfare but IW became obsessed with the perk system and put it into overdrive in MW2 which resulted in silly unbalanced play on top of the glitches and other cheats which makes online play such a frustration.
I remember the boycott groups on Steam, all standing up for PC gamers so they said. Easy to say before the release but afterwards when you looked at the groups and what games the members of those groups were playing it showed a large percentage had forgotten all about the boycott. Its unbelievable such a buggy and poorly play balanced game can still sell so well.
Next month> A patent covering the plugging in of a console to an electric socket forcing all other manufacturer's to make battery operated consoles.
I'm more shocked and surprised that Kotaku have posted something positive about the Playstation brand.
Its not for me. I've played every C&C game since the first one came out on the PC. They have taken all that is good about C&C and all of what the fans have loved over the years and flushed it away with the stupid multi-player mode.
High street games stores have forsaken the PC gamer for years. It used to be the dominant format for shelf space not in my local stores it gets just a few half height shelves. That said I still have a hard time believing the 80% figure I know a lot of my gaming friends still like a physical copy but even more so like to have a bargain and the online stores like Steam etc still often sell games at their full RRP. As another poster said Steam had BFBC 2 for £35 but I bought a physical copy...
"Command & Conquer 4: Tiberian Twilight is ultimately a disappointment, sort of like the third Matrix movie. What many real-time strategy fans hoped would be the crowning achievement of the Kane saga turns out to be more of a tacked on coda to Command & Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars"
And it still got a score of 71/100? Its taken the essence of Command & Conquer and thrown it out of the window. Thanks EA for ruining a great franchise.
