I am really looking forward to BFBC2 after the disappointing MW2. The vehicles, the destructible environment are great but another thing I noticed after giving CoD a try was the 'weight' felt right. The speed and amount of effort to turn a player in BBFC2 feels so much more realistic than in CoD which to give it credit did do but feels so much lighter and more twitchy and gamey than BFBC2.
I've used wireless mice for gaming for years and not encountered any noticeable lag. Companies like Razer who always produced gaming wired mice pushed the lag thing and some gamers bought into it but now Razer produce wireless mice :) The constant snagging cord is what made me switch to a wireless mouse and I'd say it was that snagging that has caused me to be shot online more than any possible lag which I've never noticed. I've always been happy with Logitech, used to have the G7, it was a g...
I've got MW2 on the 360, is it any less glitchy on the PS3? I accept you get glitches in games, small bugs that slip by in development and testing but I've gone from really enjoying the CoD series right from the first one on the PC to disliking it a lot. CoD4 was extremely addictive, it was hard to put down and although you'd get a few glitches here and there or a suspected modded controller it was soo much fun.
The first few weeks of MW2 were fun but then it all went sour. Peop...
So the Crusade's were just a few Knights on holiday that got a bit out of hand eh? Boys will be boys eh? except when they are being buggered by their vicar/priest
I agree with some of the points in the article, bling was good, Spec Ops fun but the statement "Oh, and a side note, don't mention the glitches. This article is about what the game itself did better, not what the community is doing to it" ignores the fact its IW's sloppy approach to this sequel that opened up the doors for the players to glitch. They coded it, they left it open to abuse and are still yet to fix many things as well as annoying play balancing required for things like ...
I feel sorry for Treyarch, they are stuck between a rock and a hard place since Infinity Ward dropped the ball with Loll of D00dy: Modding Glitchware 2. I've always enjoyed the CoD series whoever the developer was.
Yeah I need to go back and finish the single player campaign (may as well get my moneys worth) but I'm done with the glitchy online play. I've been a Call of Duty fan since the first one on the PC when the team split from the Medal of Honour developers but Modern Warfare 2 has tarnished the franchise.
I'm really enjoying it, I've got it downloaded on my PC, PS3 and 360. I would have bought it on all three platforms if my PC had been up to it but sadly its not. Graphically it has an edge over the consoles but I don't think its 'substantial' as Panda puts it but it is better, not enough to make you want to run it on a PC rather than a PS3 or 360.
I'm absolutely loving the game, the weapons, the environment, the destruction its ruining other games for me. Over the last ten years ...
I always stayed with Internet Explorer until recently. No matter what great innovations other browsers came up with like tabbed browsing I just stuck with IE because it was just easier to do so, it was the default browser, I'd used it for years because it came bundled with Windows so I always knew where to find settings etc.
Recently though that changed. I'd been using IE8 for a while on my Windows 7 powered PC but I got fed up with sites showing errors or IE8 hanging and pausing...
Better than MW2? without a doubt it is head and shoulders above MW2 but then any multiplayer game is compared to MW2, noughts and crosses is better than MW2
If you want a military simulator play ARMA 2. No prone in BFBC2 is about play balancing. It will get old pretty quickly if you have a sniper laying in long grass somewhere constantly sniping a spawn point. I've played Bad Company quite a bit as a sniper and not had any problems with there not being a prone position. I've lost count of the time when I've been crouched by a bush, tree or other object in the scenery and had a player run straight past me because the camo is good enough to hide me...
Just recently I looked on Steam to pre-order Battlefield Bad Compay 2 and saw it there for £34.99, at an online store I used quite often the had it for £24.99 with othes at the same price or within a few £ and thats why I'll keep buying hard copies. I have nothing against digital download, I buy and download regularly on my PC, PS3 and 360 but not having to put a disk in the drive is not worth the extra £10 Steam are charging.
Loll of D00dy: Modding Glitchware 2
I'm really looking forward to this game. At the moment I have it pre-ordered on 360 and PC though I only pre-ordered the PC to try the BETA to see how it would run on my system which is a little old. I would like to buy it on Steam for the convenience of not having to put a disk in each time I want to play but its £10 more expensive to buy it electronically through Steam than it is to buy a hard copy in a nice case at an online retailer.
CoD4 was the one FPS I kept playing since its launch right through to Modern Warfare 2 but enough is enough MW2 has become a joke online which is why I've moved onto other FPS games like MAG and very much enjoying the BF:BC 2 demo on the 360. Its like a breath of fresh air after MW2.
Ape if you're going to reply take the time to post something original and not just cut and paste the same reply from topic to topic. Its not about having to play one game or the other. I'm a fan of the Battlefield series but I played Call of Duty and Medal of Honour before that. I'd be quite happy to play both games but I have given up with MW2 because of the glitching and play balancing. If its not noobtubes then its dual wield akimbo death stars or someone using one of the many glitches. I ...
Age ratings won't change anything as other people have pointed out you can have 30+ gamers still acting like children online. Things will only improve when the service providers i.e Microsoft and Sony start taking complaints more seriously and when users take the time to report people.
If the full game is as much fun as the demo then it will go a long way to erasing the bad memory that was MW2, I could end up buying this for my 360, PC and PS3
You might find there is an option to have crouch as a momentary command i.e hold the button or a toggle. As for no prone, well in the first game it really wasn't a necessity. The camo and terrain is good enough to provide a safe place to lurk and snipe etc. I've lost count of the times a player has ran past me while I've been sniping and I've simply turned, let him get a few yards down the road to reduce his weapons efficiency and then shot him in the back :)
Wow what an incredible improvement in performance. My aged system - an AMD 64 x2 4200 with 4gb and a GTX 260 stuttered and paused in the original demo so I was resigned to buying it only on 360 or PS3 but now it runs ok on my PC so in a few months when I upgrade it will be even better.
