A decent sword-play mini-game!
I think I've seen that interface before. Can't put my finger on it, though...
I also wasn't a fan of the first Halo, but the second really raised the bar. Video game sequels don't seem to have the same stigma that movie sequels do.
I'm most interested in hear more about Killzone 2. Expectations are so ridiculously high for this game that I can't imagine it meeting them, but I hope I'm wrong.
One of the industry's best game studios was started by a doctor, a dungeon master comic book nerd, and a wood carver? How awesome is that!
*clears out life savings to start a game studio*
I can definitely see EA being a great business partner, considering their resources, but I don't see most gamers complaining about how poorly they work with other studios: it's their effect on the industry as a whole that worries me.
Have they been improving lately? Hell yes: the new Madden has improved dramatically, Mirror's Edge and Dead Space are changing things up, Burnout Paradise was a great step forward for the franchise. It's a good start, but I don't wanna see them b...
Using context sensitive buttons might seem a little wonky to core gamers, but when done right, it's a much smoother control scheme. It doesn't work if you need to layer actions on top of one another, but for things like cover, Epic did the smart thing.
All the more reason for them to push it into the future, where at least the weaponry has changed.
Yes, popular perception of the PS3 is rising, but the only place I see the Wii's reputation falling is with core gamers; we're a vocal lot, but definitely a minority, and the consistently high Wii sales show that. The PS3 does, however, have a statistically higher rated selection of games, even if it is a degree smaller than its competitors, and I think that will help them reap some benefits in the long run.
My point: $249 is step 1, reclaiming the Playstation brand is step 2, a...
Good points.
I love my PS3 to death, but I don't see demand for it rising dramatically this generation when it's image continues to be in such flux. Whether that can be blamed on Sony, the media, or dumb luck is another discussion, but with frequent (and dramatic) firmware updates and a software library just now starting to hit its competitive stride, it's gonna take some aggressive marketing to pull it up.
Even at $249, people will still probably pick up a Wii beca...
You've done well so far to step up and compete with Rock Band. You've obviously decided to go one step further and bring on a sizable list of major musicians, and I respect that, too. That only does enough to put me on the fence between your product and EA's - if you can promise Tool and/or Dream Theater, you'll have a definite sale.
See, I keep telling people that Tecmo's development of boob physics was good for everyone!
I disagree - the PS3 needs a price drop as soon as Sony can afford it... perhaps sooner.
This has been said for years - as proven by the PS2, $199 is a magic number. I'm sure the Wii will prove it yet again.
Really? I guess I can rent it now, but I still can't get myself to risk $60 on a movie game.
Ken is overpowered? HERESY!
I never expected this game to sell well, but if they can't get a working beta out to core gamers, it won't sell at all.
This has to be an accidental release... either that, or someone forgot to carry the one when programming the beta release script ;)
Not as good as a multiplat release.
Or did that also have Killzone 2 and The Agency in that 2008 montage?
