I definitely see that as a good thing. No developer will make such a cancellation system for just one state, so that'll filter down through the entire country; good call, Illinois!
For God sake, I'd never heard of the game because I didn't own a Dreamcast. Relax.
*goes to Google search Shenmue*
Really, if this is so highly acclaimed, how have I never heard of it? Am I missing out on something great?
And if he does have a clue, he's got some pretty hefty blinders on. I completely agree that reviewers needs to, as a whole, become more critical of the games they review, but the complaints he's bringing up really aren't a problem with the journalists themselves. Publishers need to get on board, too, and who knows? Maybe that'll happen when reviewers start acting like professionals.
You're welcome, Mr. Corolla. I love your morning show!
August 20-24
Totally. I guess E3 would have been a good place to show the game, but I can't blame them for waiting on a bigger audience.
I haven't been a fan of any of the PC-to-console ports of RTS games. I remember playing a C&C port on the original PS, and it was horrible.
I see the cost of current-gen development going down, but not enough to spark a resurgence of third-party exclusives. Unless you start talking about Arcade/PSN games, full retail titles are gonna need to start moving multiplat to stay profitable for a loooooong time.
I hadn't thought about E3 in that way before, as a positive draw for mainstream media. If E3 goes down, there's gonna need to be another show that steps up to accommodate more press, but with GDC welcoming less press, who's it gonna be? PAX? Liepzig? The Tokyo Game Show?
Don't hold your breath on that one: more people just means more idiots.
What did I say that was wrong? What did Erasmus, for that matter?
... had a system where you built your own ships, but it was so severely underdeveloped that I never spent more than a few minutes with it. I'm glad Rare is stepping up and making a whole game around that concept, I might just have to get my 360 soon.
Yeah, the video is kinda rough, but the fact that it took so long to pan through that entire list speaks to the heft of what's gonna be available. Holy crap.
And I'm glad a journo had the balls to call them out on it.
I have no problem with them moving over the 360 because of business reasons. It frustrates me a bit as a PS3 owner, but that's an excuse I can at least understand. But please, Squeenix, as someone who's bought nearly every one of your games since I was like 5, don't lie to me and tell me it's because you want to share the game with everyone and then proceed to "share" your games with just the Xbox 360. Bring...
It'll be hard to argue that Alucard penned that quote, but it's a good one regardless. Really good list.
Agreed. There are so many great franchises out there that simply aren't cut out for multiplayer, and there's nothing wrong with that; there are many other ways to prolong the life of your title, developers :)
I realized that after it got approved, and now I can't edit the image anymore. Oh well...
I don't see why LEGO Indy didn't get more sales... it was pretty fun.
