Yeah they really need to start using either a totally new engine or just use Id Tech 5 engine since Id is part of the company now. Either way will make the fallout and elder scrolls series WAY better.
I really hope the rumors that the next Elder scrolls is using the same engine aren't true.
Just because it says they are looking for someone with 360 experience doesn't mean a thing. You have to remember that if someone is hired they are not gonna just fire them when the project is over. They are gonna have them work on other projects.
If the person they hire has experience with both PS3 and 360 in the future they will be more useful as they can help out with more then just PS3 exclusive projects.
To be honest I think this will stay exclusive...
Yeah many have said it and not one was able to do it. It's kinda something they have to say really. They are not gonna say something like "Well it is a movie tie in game and so it was rushed and will be a piece of crap"
They are gonna try to praise it.
Personally I don't think the game looks all that great. The game looks pretty enough and captures the look of the new movie well enough but game play wise it just looks bland and even a bit won...
That's exactly why I hate reviews of MMO's. No MMO no matter what it is stays the way it does when it launches and is often even weeks later a very different game yet those reviews do damage to the game in some cases.
For example as you mention by the time the PS3 version of FFXIV comes out it will be a totally different game yet if someone goes and reads a review for it that happens to be from the PC version they will think the game is trash based on a review that wa...
Yes because 3000+ people running around with me is empty.... god how are so many trolls allowed on this site?
And yes I'm obviously a SE employee sent out to the interweb to do "Damage Control"......
It's called defending a decent game that is getting unjustly bashed by reviewers and fan boys alike(many of which have no did not and never will play the game nor did they intend to). I back up what I say with facts not that the does anything...
Not every MMO is WoW. Anyone who think so is retarded. The game is doing well enough considering it's only on 1 of it's 2 intended platforms right now. 3 if they can get MS working with them for the 360 version that is currently on hold.
Any idiot who thinks a new MMO should OFF THE BAT have WoW numbers should be shot. That is why games like Warhammer didn't fare so well. They thought they would have MASSIVE numbers and nearly every server was a ghost town and ev...
So let me get this straight.
SE announces that the next patch or 2 will fix EVERY problem with the game and then in good faith gives everyone another free month and people still complain? Really?
I don't care what anyone says the game is doing great. During the launch SE needed to make new servers to keep up with the amount of players and at least on my server players are not leaving. It's been the same steady number since the 30th of September.
yeah it amazes me how much people will jump on a band wagon. 90% of the people here on N4G haven't and never will play Final Fantasy XIV and still complain about it as if they are a paying customer.
And still funnier is that when in defense of something you post FACTS with links and proof to back it up they STILL complain. You can never win.
Yup I was expecting everything to be fixed(They always fixed issues in Final Fantasy XI and I have been playing that since it's US launch) so I never doubted the game would be fixed.
What I didn't expect was them to release a thing saying what they were fixing and when and that pretty much ALL the problems will be fixed in one update and not many over the course of several months.
By November/December The game will be pretty much fixed.
They have already announced what will be in the next update which will be sometime in November(so it will be before the new trial period ends) and it will fix pretty much all the major problems people are having.
They are adding a search function to the market system(which was already somewhat fixed it's MUCH better now)
They are fixes menus to make them much less convoluted.
They are giving players the ability customize all the keys o...
My two main issues with Onlive are as follows.
1 is the total lack of games.
2 is that the best thing about playing games on PC is that they are supposed to look better then anything else and with Onlive you can't mess with resolution or settings or stuff like that. Depending on what you play them on(screen size) the game may look like crap because of the capped resolution.
The idea is cool and the interface is great but pretty much every...
Considering FFXIV and FFXI before it were focused to be console MMO's making the game for a controller isn't think headed. Players on console are used to controller and would not bother playing the game if they had to learn something they were not used to. The fact that the game works nearly perfectly with a controller is a great thing.
Square should have made 2 separate UI's in my opinion one for mouse and keyboard and one for controller so everyone would be hap...
#1 User Interface was designed for a controller. So people who play MMO with mouse and keyboard obviously don't like it. Yes there is a bit of lag with it but they have already made improvements with it. They will also more then likely fix the stuff that is cumbersome or annoying(they did with Final Fantasy XI)
#2) Yes the graphics need to be adjusted out of the game but how this is a issue is beyond me. Most people will find out what works for them and then never change ...
Even in this somewhat lower quality video it's really easy to see that Versus looks WAY better then XIII did. Everything from the character models to the animations to the environments have more detail and the scope looks much larger as well.
The graphics in Versus are insane. They put what was in XIII to shame. I wonder if they will be able to keep that quality up throughout the entire game which would be amazing.
Agito also looks really good as well. Looks like both games are taking a much more mature direction.
Personally I'm alot less excited for the next game since rumors that they are using the same graphics engine again are going around. It makes NO sense when they can use Idtech5 to make the game. Even if the game was already underway it should be ported over to the Idtech5 engine. So many of the issues people have with the Elder Scrolls games would go away completely if they used Idtech5.
Stuff like the horrible character models that can never be made to look younger then ...
The point Abriael is trying to make is the game opens up a bit more as you level up because of the job system allowing you to mix and match which is something the guy who did the review did not and never will find out because they didn't get very far at all in that perspective.
As far as the holding off. Every MMO has issues at launch and every single one of them continues to evolve and change. FFXIV is no exception to this. Many of the MAIN issues people have with this g...
The one thing that blows me away about the video review is that it seems as if it was done by someone who did nothing but look at forums and message boards and see what people were complaining about and then talked about what he read for a video review.
And the whole thing seems like a person with a vendetta who doesn't want people to play a game at all costs as opposed to a opinion.
There was no "If you like this or that then maybe you can look p...
Personally I think it's somewhat likely Hale is not dead and will end up being the main bad guy that Capelli will have to take down.
Although on the other hand one would think that if the bullet to the head at the end of R2 didn't kill Hale that Hale would have just killed Capelli which didn't happen if Capelli is the new main character.
Either way I'm sure Insomniac will make another incredible game. The screens we have seen so far look inc...
It annoys me that these games don't ever make it to the US.
Most visual novels never get here. A few get here on PC but the best ones never do. Fate/Stay Night for example should have been released in the US LONG ago.
The sad thing is there is a audience for these games and it's more then likely big enough to earn profit(small one but profit still) with a company like Atlus or NIS in which they have really limited runs. But it seems that you can'...
