I have enjoyed more J-RPGs this gen then western ones.
Lost Odyssey, Valkyria Chronicles, Disgaea 3, Final Fantasy XIII(Yeah I liked it so what) Tales of Vesperia and so on and so forth. And thats not even counting handhelds.
On the other hand the only real western RPG i have truly and really enjoyed has been Mass Effect 2
I'm really looking forward to the game and I hope it comes out sooner rather then later but they are gonna really need to step things up because Bayonetta pretty much set a new standard in the action genre.
On the other hand the original Xbox version of Ninja Gaiden set the standard and was so for many years so if anymore can do it it's Team Ninja. Can't wait to see what they show off at E3.
Now correct me if I'm wrong but Namco Bandai never said the reason Tales of Graces F was coming here was because of a petition. No petition as far as I'm aware has ever made a dev change a plan or something. The voices of the fans sure but not a single petition.

No info was released to the US on Cathrine. Nearly every bit of info that was released was something translated from sites or magazines covering the game in Japan. There has been very little official information about the game coming from ATLUS's US branch.
That said It will more then likely be coming here and probably sooner rather then later. The 360 thing is a good hint because they would have never bothered with a 360 version had they not intended to have a US releas...
It would really depend on the game.
I would buy a HD remaster of FFXII in a heart beat as well as games like Okami, Odin Sphere, SMT nocturne and a few others.
But pretty much everything else would need to be in a collection of some sort(which isn't hard considering most of the games people want are from a series.)

I personally don't get what people mean when they refer to rebooting the FF franchise.
Every game in the series aside from the few direct sequels are reboots. They have nothing to do with each other and they have completely different game play mechanics that's exactly what a reboot is.

I would 100% agree with pretty much everything said. But the doesn't change the fact that the setting itself is bland. It's just like the other countless medieval fantasy games that come out. There isn't much aside from that sense of danger that makes the games setting unique and that was design not the setting. The danger could be felt in any setting as it was part of the design.
All the sense of impending doom and ambiance is part of the design not the setting....

It would have sold more. As evidenced by the fact that nearly every Japanese RPG on the Xbox 360 had lackluster sales even when they were great games. Such as Lost Odyssey, Blue Dragon, Tales of Vesperia, Star Ocean and so on and so forth.

I really hope this is the PS3 version though. Awhile back there was that rumor that a Wii version of Tales of Graces F might to coming out in the west and I would HATE to see that happen.

I doubt they would have "Someone else" port the game. SE wouldn't let a outside company port the game because they want total control over the franchise and the other teams within SE are FAR to busy with the million other projects. That's exactly why it to XIII so long because they didn't have someone else port it the same team had to do it once they finished the PS3 version.

Prior to the release of the game SE released a Demo that came with the advent children Blu-ray in Japan. That demo was made from code of the game as it was as a PS3 exclusive.
We saw after the final build was released that things had been dumbed down graphically on BOTH consoles to allow the 360 to run the game and not look significantly worse then the PS3 version. There were many postings about it when the game was getting closer to release.
I doubt it's coming to the 360. The trailer once again says PS3 only and they would have more then likley said otherwise if it was gonna ever come to 360.
Again people need to remember Nomura is a sony supporter and would rather his game stay exclusive and that VSXIII is MUCH more graphics intensive then XIII was(which the 360 had problems with) and considering we have never seen the 360 measure up to something like Uncharted that's a good reason to think this will s...
I honestly doubt they will put Vs on 360. For a few reasons.
firstly making FFXIII on 360 didn't really help the game much. The PS3 version still overwhelmingly outsold the 360 version despite no advertising for the PS3 version in the US. So it didn't make the sales jump as much as they had hoped.
2nd is the compromises they had to make to FFXIII by making the game a 360 game. We saw how much it changed from the Advent Children Demo to final release. ...

How you can say that when everything Nomura has said and showed seems to imply that Versus is going to be just like the Final Fantasy games of yesteryear but with a incredibly beefed up world and graphics and what not is beyond me.
I mean from everything we have heard it's going to be a far more traditional J-RPG then anything we have gotten this gen so far.
