We haven't seen Battlefield 4 run on PS4 yet (and I do not think we have seen it run on XBoxOne either).

We do not know the release date of PS4 (especially not Europe).

I am waiting but I assume those questions will be answered during Gamescom...

I have preordered a PS4
- release this year => order of BF4 for PS4
- release next year => undecided, might buy BF4 for PC...

It is not DICE, it is one of their sub contractors... N4G title is misleading too!

So voice recognition in OS will be in Swedish then?

I guess no game developer will do that in game (well, some kids game developer might)

So we will have this frustrating situation
Talk Swedish to XBone while in OS, talk English while in game.
But what to use when giving voice OS commands while in game?

It is actually quite common to select English as system language when installing Windows on PCs...

I guess you work for EA then?

Frostbite is in EA only, that it was bad to work with was one of their reasons for a major rewrite to FB2.

Every report I heard (inluding Swedish) says that it is easy to work with...

Why will DICE do Mirrors Edge 2 with Frostbite and not Unreal? (Don't say licensing cost, the are almost irrelevant for AAA games)

Lets see... is Sims 4 a sports game? No

Can we then expect Frostbite, or?

Does FB3 handle construction as well as destruction?

If I understood FB correctly artists design all models at high detail (model/texture).
The engine then assembles sets of data for different locations; objects close gets high detail, objects far away gets reduced.

For example if there is a high tower it will be needed in all sets. (A building ...

Ever heard of speed of light?

Lightning situation can chang very quickly in a game built with those kinds of events.

Trees moving in the wind or due to explosions cast shadows.

Someone punches a hole in a wall, turns on or off a flashlight, or someone outside sprays your dark hiding place with tiny holes.

I do not really think Microsofts intents to put three GPUs and a Titan per blade... but who knows...

I wonder...

NFS Rivals is using the same engine and has this interesting feature that friends can pop into your single player games (on your team or on the opposing)

I do really wonder... wouldn't it be really cool?

Because you can enter a vehicle? Or that you feel great when succeeding in taking down an opponents overpowered vehicle?

Wow, guess you can't do that in BF4 - or?

What exactly is it in Titanfall that ignites your interest?

Titanfall might really be EAs way of educating FPS gamers to appreciate vehicles...

BF4 will still be ported (or rather compiled*) to XBOX 360 and PS3 with even lower hw specs (DX9), so keeping portability to all PCs with (DX11) should not be that difficult.

BF3 did run on PCs with entry level DX10 hardware (DX11 software stack), I had one of these - it did NOT run well in multi player...

I would not be surprised if they require DX11 hardware this time (I bought a used GTX 470)

Fish AI is reused Zombie AI...

The only change needed is the sign of movement direction.

Zombies moves towards you, fish away from you...

BTW I think this is the reason for Zombies to be so popular among developers - using a trivial AI gives you the right zombie feel.

Try to make an AI that makes squad mates and enemies to feel like real humans and suddenly you need to pass the Turing test - not only taking the right decision...

Really impressive, I wonder how many can convincingly say that this is not a real photo - can you? Why?

I see two things after a short inspection.

"[Frostbite 3] has never been running on Wii U, We did some tests with not too promising results with [Frostbite 2] and chose not to go down that path."

"I have never been to Sidney, I checked the ticket price and decided not to go there."

Does that really mean I will never go to Sidney? What if someone gives me the ticket and I am not busy with other stuff?

I bet it won't on PS3 and XBOX 360, as they have too little memory to hold the state required.

Keeping information on much a tree is broken:
1 bit whole/in pieces on ground
2 bits whole/scratched/part fall off/in pieces on ground
x bits what part of tree

What is good is that if you have a forest there is no need to save anything for untouched trees. But still - someone might go on a tree rampage...
