@Eonjay not 3x more powerful, try 20x...

@OMGitzThatGuy: if you have a console and want to use the most of it you HAVE to move everything you can over to the GPU. The performance gap will only grow with next generation.
EA/Frostbite is only used only in third party games. This is ONE example for how they use GPGPU
https://www.ea.com/frostbit...
Note: even crowds are handled by the GPU...
That sounds like this, but even more limited... (two large buildings = arena?)
"Boom goes the dynamite
Join with up to 10 agents online to tear the city apart piece by piece in a 100% destructible multiplayer arena, available with your purchase of Crackdown 3."
and then there is co-op, that does not really promise any cloud destruction...
"Dangerous open-world playground
Play with up ...
Inventions only happens when Microsoft says so...
From last years GDC

The main use for this is to create a quick preview of final result for the designer!
(one video card running the frostbite engine showing "in engine" graphis, the other refining lightmaps 9:00)

@Razmiran "Four times more powerful"
Try 20 times...

How can you make money by taking over a game company? By making a game fail.
Why should developers stay?
You would need to invest heavily to be able to release a sequel, that might also fail?
EA, obviously!
Interesting list, lets find those EA games made with Frostbite...
None, but still they compete on photo shot pages - that is impressive!
"Most consumers that enter Electronics Retail shops to buy games have no idea digital games exist"
(fixed that for you)
If you own a console and have not noticed that you can buy games online you have not used that console much...
It is not like they try to hide it...
Tracking only from headset is a bad idea unless you track 360 degrees around you.
A such simple thing a bow and arrow might not work as you draw your hand out of view from VR set.
You probably need both methods.
That is not the difficult part, the difficult part is "Do We Want to Hear it Again (and Again)..."
Edit: why all this new info now?
1. Upcoming preview of gameplay?
2. Upcoming crowdfunding?
3. ...?
Microsoft will not want release a game not being what they promised the first year of XBox One X existance.
So, what have they promised?
* All their own games in true native 4k
* Crackdown 3 with multiplayer destruction
- requiring several servers per online game (operations cost to support the game)
- requiring timing and data syncronization over public internet (varying latencies)
- with possibility to balance resolution against ph...
12 Jaguars - one for yield - one for OS = 10 Jaguars for Game
or
6 Zen+ - one for yield - one for OS = 4 Zen+ for Game (Hyper threaded 8 threads*, higher clock speed, doing more each cycle)
It is not an easy choice, you might get more total performance from the Jaguars)
* you can not max out all thread, actual performace gain with HT would look like 5 - 6 threads
Might depend on what data you look at, looking at XBox One game sales - exclusive games does not matter...
I wonder if half of that article is true...
Suppose you worked really hard to make a game. It releases.
And EVERY user (not necessarily customer) complains about one particular issue, even after it has been fixed.
Would you really happily go to the forums on your free time, or would you leave handling that mess to those hired to handle forums specifically? I would stay away...
Yea, someone like Josef Fares?

Yes, thats the man himself!
Did you see the "Meet the 19 years old who spent over $10,000 on microtransactions", CoD was one of the games...

Please name any non open source software where you get everything for the lowest price.
Microsoft Windows?
Microsoft Office?
Microsoft Studio?
Photoshop?
Cubase/FL Studio/...? (look at their plugin market)
Complete - what is complete?
Is a Spiderman game complete if it does not tell ALL stories there is?
Is a game like Hitman, that releases a few assignments now and then worse than one the release 20 to at first...
But this isn't evil EA releasing pay to win this is just Ubisoft being nice and giving you an opportunity to buy a time saver...
