And you have no doubt in your mind that is was actual XBox One and not developer kits PCs (given MS track record)?

Not really PC like...

XBox is running unified memory against SDRAM like many notebooks / integrated graphics. But with a bigger eSRAM than most, and faster than everyone in this category.
(The new Intel has up to 128 MB eSDRAM, not as fast but
a lot bigger

No, not really as most Levolution is user triggered.
If nobody destroys the pillars of the skyscraper it won't come down. (There are some recent trains that look random - do not know yet)

Most likely they never hold the complete track but streams it in as you go. Doing that you only need to load what is visible from your starting position. (And you you can stream models too not only textures)
- Frostbite (Battlefield, NFS The run / Rivals) does this.

If you do not have destruction you will not need to reset the destruction state for every destructible item either...
You might not want to keep it all in memory. So you will need some diskwrites a...

I also think this is a very old interview.

"Geomerics’s lighting middleware, Enlighten is being used in several upcoming games like Dragon Age Inquisition, Star Wars Battlefront and Mirrors Edge."

All using the same game engine, Enlighten is in Frostbite.

We already have several Frostbite games out there.

NFS Rivals

Plants vs Zombies: Garden Warfare

XBox One 900p @ 60fps [48]
PS4 1080p @ 60fps [49]

Why? Because this is Frostbite 3 as Battlefield

Battlefield 4 released with

XBox One 720p @ 60fps
PS4 900p @ 60fps

With half a year of optimizations (and a seemingly simpler game) both has been able to take another step on the resolution ladder. ...

The hardware built into PS4 is according to Sonys specifications. Same is true for XBox One.

Sony did a much better work this time!

MS: GDDR memory is expensive, lets keep on chip memory (eSRAM), we have to cut away parts of the GPU to keep the chip size withing economical constraints.

Sony: GPGPU is the future (SPU replacement), lets improve that aspect. GDDR memory will become affordable, lets put only GDDR memory controlers on chip

I would be more surprised if there is no multiplayer elements.

This is built using Frostbite, possibly the engine were you loose least features when going from singleplayer to multiplayer.
+ Graphics, mostly the same
+ Destruction, remains
+ Lightning, still dynamic and adopts to destruction
- CPU usage, goes up

A co-op would fit very well.

I do not really think you are allowed to do a article like this based on real hardware dev kits.

All developers have signed licenses, and most likely they state that you are not allowed to publish a benchmark.

As I understand the article it simulates running the XBox One with 8 GB memory at full eSRAM speed (i.e. always having the right content in eSRAM)

EDIT: always having the right content in eSRAM is very difficult! Why? Because the only ...
