@Fortuna, Bubble vote for you: Funny
At least I hope you are being sarcastic...
"They aren't really, game was developed for consoles, then ported to PC. ... This is why both games are poorly optimized for PC..."
And your point is?
In theory I could drive faster in this car. But in practice it is not really made for the roads I am travelling...
Why don't they make six lane straight roads everywhere?
Because it is not worth it when so few are travelling in that direction...
@IGiveHu Do you know why any efficient graphics API have to resemble DirectX and OpenGL?
It is because hardware itself resembles DirectX and OpenGL as hardware developers have tried to improve their performance of programs using those APIs. On PC the most important API has been DirectX...
A low level graphics API that did not reseble DirectX/OpenGL would have done something wrong...
Remember - Frostbite engine, same engine (but will use PBR*) as
PvZ:GW
DA:I
Both play in 3rd person view, but a disconnected camera is difficult to get right.
Giving only Jedi/Sith players 3rd person opportunity would be interesting - they are supposed to have extreme situation awareness...
A more burning question - will you pop into a X-Wing seat or will you enter through some kind of door?
*PBR = Ph...
Keyword here is "Gaming PC".
Sure you can game using Linux, and most people do...!
(Using a Linux PC, owning an OUYA, but neither is what I am thinking about - it is in my pocket...)
And why not include mouse and keyboard too?
So, you say what you already have is OK...
I say you will probably replace them once or twice during the lifetime of a console controller...
I do not think there are much to do to make the PS4 slimmer.
Take a look at images of PS4 internal...
* The 8GB memory won't yet integrate on the PS4 SoC
* Make a SoC of secondary processor and other peripherals - doable!
* Power conversions need space due to heat - external power brick?
* Scrap the Blue-Ray (digital only)?
PS4 is already very slim...
@Cobra951 VR is the most natural and best controller for where human looks! NOT mouse...
Mouse is really limiting as it reduces human fine mechanics of the human fingers hand into arm movements...
And where does keyboard fit into this? WASD...
Keyboard and mouse is not the optimal controller combination.
For some reason fighter pilots does not use mouse and keyboard even though their systems can be quite complex to operate.
Wonder why?
Can it be because it is good ergonomy to be able to reach all buttons at the same time (and being able to push combinations)?
Suppose a FPS droid is created. Do you really expect it to be best controlled by keyboard and mouse? I would actually expect it to be controlled with a controller more resembling HOTAS w...
The weightedness I would guess will depend on each planets gravity. Some planets should be lighter others will be heavier...
Patch is live (for all but Xbox One)

They already have another engine Ignite.
But please mention one other engine that
- looks great
in several game modes
- single player (rendering cut scenes in real time;
in BF4 you control the camera,
in DAI you see your crafted character)
- time pause (DAI)
- multi player
- split screen (PvZ GW)
- co-op
- first person (BF4)
- second person (DAI) ...
Ahh... you mean the day when a single core CPU did most of the work and there were only one graphics adapter with no acceleration and people did not run their overclocked systems using experimental drivers?
next-gen only? No PC? :S
Seriously, it is the same source content for all platforms. When porting parts of BF4 to iOS no artists needed to be involved!
https://twitter.com/repi/st...
Pretty sure they:
1. Port the engine.
2. Measure the ported engines limits (triangles, textures, ...).
3. Puts those limits into a config file for the build system. ...
You design your Inquisitior.
Your Inquisitior will be in many of the cut scenes.
Frostbite renders cut scenes in game! And archives extremely good compression. (In BF4 you can turn away while cut scenes play out)
I wonder if Dragon Age: Inquisition is the first Frostbite game with Physical Based Rendering...
"All the Frostbite rendering team has progressively switched to
the PBR version and dropped the support of the non-PBR renderer."

XBox One :)
Frostbite build system scales original assets to what the target platform can handle. Have anyone seen any information about install size.
I am missing "Lego Star Wars: The Complete Saga" on that list!
Why would he need to ask if it is OK to relieve frequency?
Everybody expects it to be 30 Hz.
Nobody expects it to be lower than 30 Hz.
In what way would it matter if he told it is 30 Hz?
It only matters if it is not 30 Hz but they are not fully convinced it will reach 60 Hz... (giving them an opportunity to retract to 30 Hz)
Am I missing something?
(PvZ Garden Warefare is 1080p 60Hz on PS4 - might be within re...
EA (Frostbite) already does this, they are one of the driving forces behind Vulkan API.
Any serious game engine for a console would use its lowest level API.
