XBL's downtime was intermittant, and did not affect all users. I certainly did not have 2 weeks of downtime.
Why is it disturbing? last Year MS had more quality exclusives than the PS3, this year it is Sony's turn. MS bringing more content to XBL members is not a bad thing. I am a 4 year 360 owner, and I love what MS is doing and look forward to all the games coming to my console. But hey, I am not saying your opinion is invalid, I just disagree.
There has never been a 2 week downtime on XBL for me. Must have been before my time.
Borderlands was great fun, but a graphics powerhouse it was not. Rage lookss to be a an example of fantastic graphics, and if its fun, then I think it will carve its own place in the post-apocalyptic FPS genre.
Force MS to do what exactly? In the 4 years that I have been a XBL member, we have only had one service stoppage that really mattered; subsequently, MS gave out the game Undertow to mollify all the whiners. I know it sucks to not be able to play online, and I sincerely hope Sony gets all you PSn users back online soon.
Looking fantastic-- I hope you don't have to stand to play it.
I agree with a 4 out of 5, and it gives a new meaning to value in an XBLA game.
yeah, but isn't that like comparing a 1 week past ripe banana, with a 3 week past ripe banana?
Prior to Steam, playing HL deathmatch was one of my daily pleasures. playing the map Crossfire and destroying people with the Gluon gun were epic. Then Steam came along, and sure my games could be updated regularly, but really Steam reminded more of a malware than a fraking gaming service. Steam, has some nice features, but overall my experiences with it were not favorable. I would rather pay the 22.50 per person I paid for the Family Gold plan than use Steam for free (15 months of Gold for 4...
Wow, I thought Portal 2 was absolutely awesome on my 360. Maybe I am old and in the way, but "absolutely awesome" is good enough for me.
The only part of steam I want on my 360 is Steamworks, and I am a Valve fanboy.
I am on chapter 6 and loving every minute.
Kinect is in some esteemed company. All of those ideas could have tremendous potential to impact our world.
I use Gamefly, it solves all my problems.
Pro's
1: Games Delivered
2: 5$ off a Purchase every 3 months.
3: Keep it prices are almost always lower than Gamestop.
4: I don't have to leave my house.
5: Good customer Service.
Con's:
1: You don't always get what you want when it's released.
However, Games that I really want, day 1, are retail purchases from my local Gamestop, everythin...
Sounds like Games of the Year to me.
I don't purchase many disc based games brand new. I use Gamefly (love it) more than Gamestop, but I do use them both. However, The Mass Effect games have been day one purchases, and worth every penny, and every hour of my life that it has extracted from me. I saved the Rachni Queen, loved some seriously exotic alien chicks, beat Saren, destroyed the Collectors, all with my Commander Shepherd(s). Bravo Bioware! They made me care more about my Commander Shepherd, than any other video game p...
Having never been to that site before, I was surprised by the length of the interview, as well as the thoroughness of the questions. I love Gears; foremost the campaign, but Hoard is quite fun. I greatly appreciate being able to turn off the gore and harsh language; subsequently allowing me to feel comfortable sharing the Serran struggle with my sons. THX Epic. 6. I feel all games should have that option; alas, the only feelings publishers care about are the ones that mean I will spend money...
@starchild
That was well said, and also true.
I can actually say I am glad you are out of bubbles.
I checked FC out, not really my kind of "game", but interesting.
"Speaking to PCWorld, SCEJ spokesperson Satoshi Fukuoka clarified that a "thorough investigation" was ongoing into what the company has characterized as an "external intrusion" into its system, which prompted the service suspensions. More troubling than any frustration caused by downtime over this past weekend, however, is the continued uncertainty about the extent of the attack. According to Fukuoka, Sony had yet to determine if users' personal information or cre...
