now maybe we can return to thoughtful and entertaining conversations about games, while espousing the merits of each console....err i just remembered where i was so scratch that
its the same thing i saw happen from the fans of the big black box yesterday..
maybe i have not been a console gamer long enough but how is mario or zelda considered hard core games? just because they have been around for ever? would that make pac man a hardcore game? i am not being critical of either i just don't understand.
as long as the new IP's are good one's... think HAZE
i live in has plenty of broadband, but this is a country where many of our states are larger than most countries. Also, it seems like so many of you just think for "thenow"; whereas, Microsoft really seems to have a grip on thinking ahead. If the console wars were a chess match i honestly believe i would have to put my money on the upstart Microsoft; for they seem to have a very well thought endgame. imo
sometimes i swear that should be the name of this site. I honestly have been blown away by all the MS hatred spewing today. I guess if hate is the barometer for the success of the MS event, then they must have really nailed it today..
a bunch of gimmicks? i bet you felt the same way about the cellphone, that new fangled thing we call the internet, or that medical wonder viagra.. come on where in the hell is the objectivity?
i thought the motion stuff was freaking awesome, but then again i don't have the "i spent more money than you did on my console so everything you get sucks" inferiority complex.
OK, video games are just like anything else , and have the ability to engender an addictive influence upon lives. If games are causing you to lose family and friends, your house, job, bank accounts or fill you with irrational paranoia then maybe you need not play games; but the other 99.9% of us will be ok. Out of all the addictions I Have ever had, VG's are by far the most innocuous and benign to my overall health and well being. just follow that old axiom everything in moderation..
sinistar i loved that game, road blasters, the original myst
just because my 360 is awesome, does not mean that other consoles are not awesome as well. I could care less what other people spend their money on.
I love XBL, its a great service; and for me the cost vs enjoyment value is disproportionally weighted on the enjoyment side. Hell it's more expensive to eat a meal a McDonald's once a month.
the service was up for me when i woke up.
ford vs chevy. coke vs pepsi, cats vs dogs, c64 vs tandy, light vs dark.. the list could be populated to ad nauseum proportions; just like the bromidic console arguments on this website.
hadouken for spelling your name wrong.
you were talking to me haduken
i edited the comment because i realized that i was participating in this stupidity which is the console wars, even by taking the stance that i do. And as far as i am concerned Microsoft has taken care of any issues i have had with my console promptly, professionally, and arguably most importantly free. IMO what is more American then realizing that a mistake was made accepting responsibility for said mistake , and then making it right?
The HUMANS ARE DEAD
for sake of argument
there are 3 types of people, those that do, those that do not, and critics..
the fact that the critics are getting critiqued is some kind of donnie darko giant bunny nightmare.. this is how the world ends
@ HWG I concur
My dad was Vietnam Vet and no matter what the outcome was he heeded the "Call of Duty". I personally feel that Vietnam needs its on game, and as long as it portrays the battles as accurately as possible; then i say go for it..
Crytek is known for its technical excellence, and we also quizzed Yerli on his impressions of the differences between the two HD platforms. "I mean essentially the game we run is about the sam," he said. "Probably one’s stronger on the GPU side, one’s stronger on the CPU side, so depending on what you’re doing where, the PS3 does perform here sometimes better, the 360 performs other things better, but overall by the time the game ships it’ll be absolutely the same."
