Areas with gun control laws typically don't reduced rates of violence or crime. After all, law abiding citizens aren't the ones committing crimes. Crime often rises in those areas because people who would commit crime know that people are less able to defend themselves.
I get so frustrated sometimes with people complaining about reviews. Most of the time it's because they buy into the hype and then the reviews don't live up to that.
The trick is to find a couple of reviewers with tastes similar to yours. Not sites, people. Chances are reading about a game from someone who shares your tastes will be a better barometer for how much you'll enjoy the game than a bunch of random people who spread hype.
I've had a PSP-1000 for what seems like forever. I was fooling around with a PSP-3000 the other day and it makes mine feel so heavy. I wouldn't mind a lighter one, though.
Still, I'd rather see the PSP drop to $99 or so. If it did I'd replace mine.
I could see this game topping the charts for a couple of months. And it would probably deserve it.
My favorites are 7 and 8. I didn't like the combat in 10.
The game looks amazing. I wish Gran Turismo's type of gameplay was something I enjoyed. I'm sure it's good for folks that really like driving games.
They've already redesigned the internals. New units don't RROD at the rate launch units did. And backing the box like they did by extending the warranty and paying for the RROD's went a long way to help their reputation.
The brand is mostly broken in the minds of console warriors. Rational people have remained satisfied with their 360s. If that weren't the case Microsoft never would have sold as many as they have.

I wonder if a new 360 design would affect sales volumes? If it came with a price cut it probably would. Microsoft could go a long way if they introduced a 360 with a traditional HDD and got away from that proprietary crap. I'd probably buy one.

7 and 8 were my favorites. I didn't enjoy any of the later ones as much. Doesn't mean they weren't good. They just weren't for me.
I don't think people will be happy. A lot of people expect that reviewers are going to explicitly slam the 360 version as a poorly performing port. Even though it isn't true, that's what they expect out of some warped sense of fairness.
Because the technical specs are more important than gameplay, right? Even upscaled to 720p the 360 version looks good. The PS3 version is better graphically. But just admit it, if someone hadn't grabbed caps from a 360 frame buffer you would have never known the difference. So might as well get off that high horse.
Wouldn't it be funny if someone did actually strip a layer of grime from his TV?
People are complaining because Gamespot didn't do two reviews and rate the 360 version lower. Maybe this particular reviewer didn't think that the differences really affected the overall experience. Reviews are just opinions, after all.
You don't play reviews, so just buy the version that you want. It's that simple.
I get that, Figboy. I guess the thing is that for people who only own a PS3 exclusive versus multiplat goes right out the window. That's where a lot of the vitriol from people comes from. Not knocking on you specifically.
And I am pretty selfish. I really do only want them to make games that I like. But I guess I can share reality with everyone else for a while.
