This hasn't been approved because nobody believes it, but people are thinking it.

I don't completely disagree with Apple about the Flash thing. Flash is a resource hog and can lock up a browser faster than anything. Unless someone takes the first stand nobody else will follow. Adobe really does need to fix their stuff.

Why?

I'll reserve my comments on what's mandatory and what isn't. It isn't always a choice. How many SDTV's do you see in stores these days? How many VCR's? Cassette players? Technology only moves forward, so you either have to keep up or get left behind.

If by some weird turn of events everything happens to go 3D then the only choice for some people would be to live with the pain or stop watching.

I'll get an iPad, I'm sure. But probably not until the second generation. It offers all of the convenience of a netbook with a larger screen for watching movies and reading books. I wouldn't look at replacing my laptop with one, but I could do 100% of the leisure activities I do on my laptop on one of these.

I think for $500 it should at least start at 64 GB of internal memory, though. I can get a decent utility laptop with a 250 GB HDD for that much, and it can do more right ou...

I understand that a TV with a 120 HZ refresh rate can display 3D images when coupled with the right hardware and software. But from what I've read some of the more expensive 3D TV's have built-in processors that can display 2D pictures and movies in 3D as well.

Samsung advertises it at the bottom of their learning resources page.

Catch 2D in 3D.

I think it's funny how many people think it's Sony's right to remove whatever functionality they want to after they sell the console. Obviously Sony believes that they have that right, because they did it. And I'm sure their legal department believes that they can defend the decision.

I think that a lawsuit is extreme, but if it ever goes to court the terms and conditions might not hold up. I've been working in software development for 14 years and I can tell you from experience...

Wait, aren't the 360's analog sticks concave and the PS3's convex? My mind was blown for a second.

I'm sure it will. Looking forward to it.

Glad I have one. It's been worth every penny of the $500 I paid for it.

Actually got it, too.

computersengines.com/?vxapy=2 49432\{gzip} is throwing the error up. Blocked the domain with AdBlock in Firefox and I don't get it any more.

I like Heavy Rain so far. It reminds me a lot of the gameplay of Shenmue. It has the QTE's and the sense of time that I liked. Some folks won't remember Shenmue, so they might not make the connection.

In my opinion the game starts off kind of slow and I found it slightly tedious to play through the initial parts that led up to the main storyline. I can see why the author would have you do that because it does provide a lot of perspective on one of the main characters. But part of...

My guess is that no more games would be sold if there was no piracy. These companies like to count pirated copies as lost sales, but are they really?

What I think is funniest is that nobody can even agree on what "win" means, much less who is winning. That's why these little flamewars are so funny. Because nobody can even agree to what they're arguing over.

I mainly use the PS3 streaming disk for Netflix. I've streamed a movie or two on the Wii and I occasionally connect my laptop to my TV for Netflix. I don't stream from my 360 because I don't want to pay for Gold to do it.

In my opinion the experience is literally the same no matter which way I stream movies. Netflix is pretty underwhelming in the HD streaming area. If I want to stream HD movies I just get them via OnDemand from the cable company.

Disk trays? What does a disk tray have to do with anything?

And in case you didn't notice, all wireless controllers have batteries. Sony's are internal, Microsoft and Nintendo have replaceable ones. I have rechargeable packs for my Wii and 360 controllers. Most economical choice for me by far.

Which console sells the most units doesn't matter to me. I have all three. So either way I win.

The crash. It really wasn't all that bad for consumers. Not like it was for the manufacturers. I remember being able to pick up in-box games for 2 or 3 bucks back then. One of the drugstore chains had Activision games 4 for $10 at one point.
