Heh, blackmailing pirates! And what can they really do about it? Call the cops and say that they were illegally downloading software and now some guy is blackmailing them? It's very funny and actually kind of fitting!
I wish the URL was available so that I could go and laugh.
Yeah, I agree with you. Market cap has been a way to measure company "size" for quite a while, but it doesn't really measure size the way we'd normally think of it. It can be very misleading. What's interesting is that all of the size will literally disappear overnight if Nintendo sees a sharp decline in sales revenue. It will also gradually disappear if the year over year growth isn't sustainable.
Makes my head hurt to think about it.
It means that you must have a love-hate relationship with yourself. And when you're the boss you have to either not hire yourself or fire yourself when you find out.
I really hadn't given this game much consideration, but after reading about it over the last two days I think I owe it to myself to get this one. It sounds really awesome!
They're probably talking about company size in terms of market capitalization, not assets. Nintendo's market cap passed Sony's quite some time ago because of the growth Nintendo experienced due to Wii and DS revenues. A larger market cap means that the company is worth more in the market. So, essentially, because of their growth they're more valuable than Sony according to market analysts.
It's a perspective thing.
Doesn't matter. It was talking about best-selling Nintendo system. A piece to honor Nintendo isn't going to show two systems that sold more than Nintendo's best.
But on the other hand...67 million Wii's? Insane! That's some crazy fad!
Ouch, called out. That's got to sting.
I never even knew this network existed. Interesting.
Ugh, not even newsworthy. Probably not even real. This kind of thing has gone around the internet in different flavors for years. This kid loves to take tabloid rumor and speculation and post it as news to get hits for his Examiner stories.
I hope this game is really awesome. It sounds like it's going to be.
Sorry Apocalypse, but in all of the instances you mention the developer *made the choice* to not take better advantage of the PS3's hardware. They weren't forced by Microsoft to make compromises to the PS3 version. They could have made those games PS3 exclusive and made the games that they wanted to. They didn't because they wanted to make as much money as they could, not the best game that they could.
We can agree to disagree if you want. I just think that many of these develope...
Wow, I have 4 of the 5.
At the end of the day it's still a shooter. I hope that shooter fans really enjoy it. But no matter how good it looks or how well it runs, it's still a shooter. I won't buy it.
Saying that the 360 holds the PS3 back is just FUD. There's absolutely no proof of it other than the anecdotal ramblings of fanboys who say it must be true because games haven't lived up to the hype they've bestowed upon them.
The only thing that holds the PS3 back is the unwillingness of third-party developers to make games that use the PS3 to it's fullest potential. Either that or it is just too expensive to create content to fill all of that storage space that Blu-ray provides...
Oh look. Yet another FPS.
No thanks. I'll save my money for something that's fun.
I'll give them a click when there's actual news.
Yeah, the disagree button is funny. I didn't make a statement one way or the other and I got 2 disagrees. I've just always wondered what makes a title AAA.
How do they know it's a AAA title before they develop it?
It really doesn't matter whether it is good or bad, because Sony obviously didn't care how any of us felt about it.
I used the feature, but now it's gone and never to return. So I just had to suck it up, reformat my drive and install the update. I didn't want to do it, but I did it.
Am I happy about it? No, I feel like I was screwed without even getting kissed first. But there's nothing I can do about it.
Haha!
