Microsoft hasn't "managed to lose" studios. Microsoft made a strategic decision to close, sell or otherwise release most of their first party studios. Some they signed new development agreements with, others went off on their own or had to shut down from lack of funding.
I think we saw in 2009 what that decision meant for 360 exclusives as the PS3 pretty much beat the snot out of the 360 on the exclusive end. But something tells me that Microsoft is pinning their succes...
I'm really curious, not trolling. What exactly does "last gen" mean? What does Killzone 2 do that's "next gen" while Halo 3 is "last gen"? I don't really understand it. Shooters have had pretty much the same DNA since DOOM and Wolfenstein 3D.
To me all shooters are pretty much the same. Just different weapons and maps. But I don't like shooters, so that's why I think it.
I'm still trying to figure out why it is a big deal. Bungie has job security for the next 10 years and can still do pretty much whatever they want to. I'm ok with that.
Does this mean that Activision may actually publish something worth buying?
I guess through this we'll see how far freedom of the press goes in comparison to intellectual property rights. I was thinking all along that Gizmodo went a bit too far by dissecting the phone and showing what was inside. This case could have some pretty far-reaching effects.
Sega's really opening the vault. I enjoyed their light gun games tremendously. Between this package and the Dreamcast games coming to XBLA I'm going to be reliving the memories!
Not sure how you got to Apple from a lightsaber game. Anyway, instead of complaining that Apple is ripping people off why don't you just spend the $50 on the parts and make your own iPod? If you can, then it is nothing more than just the sum of its parts and people are being ripped off. If you can't, then perhaps there's more to it than you realize and maybe worth the cost.
I think that we're going to see both Natal and Move reserved primarily for the casual space. I know people want to believe that somehow these technologies will somehow bring better games than what we've seen with Wii that somehow appeal to self-styled "hardcore" gamers. But I think that third party developers are still going to struggle with control paradigm and there won't be enough compelling reasons beyond launch software for people to invest in the add-ons.
A lightsaber game would be great. I would also like to have a proper follow-up to the Jedi Knight series.
It's nice to see a new game pop up.
The twitterverse is alive with this.

IGN is all over it, too. Too bad it came to a lawsuit, though.
I'll sure sleep better now.
I like the black one. Not enough to buy a new one, but I like it.
I don't own either company. But I do own both consoles. I also own toothpaste.
I want this game on my PS3. That is all.
I'm trying to figure this out. Is there a story here that I'm missing?
EDIT: The alternate source makes sense. Why the heck wasn't that submitted as the story instead of whatever this is? The alternate source is the story.
Well, having worked in commercial software development for 15 years I can tell you one thing. The majority of customers would rather software be late but right than on-time and imperfect. Games are no exception. As a consumer I can deal with the disappointment of a missed release date as long as when I get the product it is that much better. And if there's nothing you can do to make it right, then it's just better to just cancel it.
Well, I can tell you that the user score for high-profile exclusives are a measure of how stupid some people are. All the really good games get terrible user scores because the console warriors vote them down. Silly.
So, Dylantalon1. What would a girl gamer do? Are you saying that girl gamers don't know about changing technology? Are you really that sexist?
Yeah, they're probably going to be punished somehow for receiving stolen goods. I think that the question for me is whether lost by Apple and found by someone else equates to stolen. Clearly the guy that sold it didn't own it and should have turned it in to the authorities.
I wonder if the police are going to arrest the guy that sold it. Seems like he'd be on the hook, too.
