I agree. I'd really like to see more games come out that are pure and simple family fun.
I have Chip's Challenge for the Atari Lynx. I didn't think that version was all that good though. Haven't tried the Windows version.
I love it when I find a great game that's also free. Shows how much of a labor of love some people have with gaming. I especially love it when I see people putting these new technologies to use.
A good example is Space Deadbeef for the iPhone/iPod Touch. That game is an excellent side-scrolling shooter like we had back in the SNES/Genesis days and it is really well done.
I don't really agree with the author of the article on everything, but some of it we agree on. There are some controllers that I've liked more. I think that Dualshock is a much better design than the NES and SNES controllers because of the way it sits in your hands. It was really well-engineered. Nintendo did do a good job with the SNES controller, it was much better to hold than the NES controller. I would have put the Xbox Controller S on the list instead of the NES controller.
I like to get all of the little free bonuses. That's why it's good to own multiple consoles. You really get so many choices and so much variety.
Peace Walker may be just the thing to get me to dust off my PSP. I love to see great new games on that system.
3 bubbles is the new standard. Everyone's bubble count was reset with the new site since the rating system is supposed to be more balanced. Dusty said it was necessary to make it work.
On topic, this game should be good for the people who enjoy the genre. It's not something I would buy since it's not my thing. I may rent it, though,
If there's some really good damage modeling I'll have to check it out. To me being able to smash a car to bits makes me excited for an adrenaline rush. I really hope that it gives a good sense of speed. I'm all about the fast thrills.
I hope the game is as good as Edge says it is. Family games that are really fun seem to be so few and far between these days.
Great job you guys! Thanks for providing such a lively and interactive forum!
I'm really excited for Red Dead Redemption. Won't be much longer!
It's good to see the market doing well. Hopefully strong sales ensure the continued stream of excellent games we've been seeing.
The thing about Flash is the thing about all development tools. If you don't know what you're doing you eat up resources. I've seen poorly written C code drop a server to it's knees. People who develop Flash apps are often poor Flash developers and don't take memory usage into account when they build a billion objects when a dozen better-designed ones would do.
Oh look. Yet another Bungie/Activision article. This Bungie/Activision deal is getting to be so boring.
That's what I'm thinking. The more copies Capcom puts out there probably the sooner I can get a copy from the bargain bin.
I think you're right. I've purchased a few apps from the app store that look like they could have easily been made with flash.
I neither win nor lose I guess.
I don't think the guy had any obligation to return it to Apple. He sure shouldn't have sold it since it didn't belong to him, but at the least he could have just left it where it was and at the most could have turned it over to the police.
Gizmodo shouldn't have dissected it. They shouldn't have paid for it. Freedom of the press doesn't extend to buying illegal property. They probably deserve some sort of sanction for being morons. Too bad being stupid isn't illegal.
I doubt they made millions through advertisements, but they probably saw an increase over their normal revenues.
Whether something is art is in the eye of the beholder. I've disagreed with so many of Ebert's movie reviews. I've loved things he's hated and hated things he's loved. To me this is no different.
