Nice!
Don't let the door hit you in the ass on the way out, Geohot.
Developers and publishers aren't completely altruistic. They need to sell the stuff they make. So if a game is released that is exclusive to one console or another of course they're going to say that it could only be done there. That generates interest and excitement and makes people want to buy it to get the most out of their console investment.
I don't see it as a case of journalists twisting anything, because just like this article says, all of those games came...
I knew it was going to be hot in here. I bet there are things that, because of the technology in the box, can be done on one console and not another. Each architecture has different strengths and weaknesses. What is important is that developers use those strengths to deliver the best experiences possible while working to minimize the impacts of the weaknesses.
Problem is that the fanboys like to stab each other in the back and then twist the knife whenever they can.

If today was actually my last day on earth I think I would put down the controller. But in the spirit of the article, if this was the last time I could play games I think I would put some time and quarters into a Zaxxon machine. Man, I've been jonesing for some Zaxxon lately.
Gosh I would get so addicted if it were free.
Depends on the game I guess. Flight games feel more natural with inverted control, but I do better with shooters on regular.
A price war would be cool. Nice to see the consumer win one.
I'm not a Briton, but I was in this predicament before I had eye surgery. Depth of field problems are frustrating.
Now I understand it. Thanks for clearing that up.
It really is a good game. Even the glitches are fun for me.
Yep. The only way to get exclusives these days is to build them yourself or contract to bring on studios as second-party to make your exclusives.
I think Microsoft called it wrong when they assumed that it was best to release their studios and rely primarily on third parties for content. As time goes on there is less and less new content to distinguish Microsoft from their competitors.
I don't think it's too late. There are lots of creative developers...
So Red Dead Redemption's doing well, right? Because that chart doesn't make any sense to me.
Reminds me of the character creator in Soul Calibur III. Or the bounciness option in Dead or Alive 2.
I completely see your point. I wonder if that's why there aren't people in the cars in Burnout: Paradise?
For a while I was trying to avoid violent video games where I could. But it is really hard. Even the games that are relatively benign like ModNation Racers or 3D-Dot Game Heroes are still based on violence.
Definitely thought-provoking stuff.
I love Assassin's Creed and I'm definitely looking forward to this game. This is one of my favorite series this generation.
Hmm, I have mixed feelings about this one. As I think about it I'm reminded that there is violence in all kinds of games. I don't think it takes violence to make games fun, because I've played non-violent games and had a blast. But violence is pervasive. Heck, even Mario Brothers is full of turtles and mushrooms that are on a mission to kill. Kill or be killed all the way back to Pac-man.
As far as storytelling goes, I'm not so sure that all games need a story...
I guess it makes sense that we're seeing a whole new slew of reviews for the console since it is just now launching in Europe.
I've been hearing a lot about this game in the last few days, enough to want to give it a try. Looks like a load of fun!
At this point in time Kinect doesn't appeal to me all that much. I hope that this kind of interactive technology isn't the the only way we'll play games in the future. I wouldn't mind it if there were compelling gameplay scenarios for it. But to be honest I'm kind of lazy and I don't really want to move around all that much.
I hope that the people that do get it are rewarded with the gameplay experiences they're looking for.
Haha, that's hilarious morganfell! Got me chuckling!
