I'm actually thinking of trying this out. If I can find a good deal I just might. Not going to pay $60 for it, though.
I hope that Microsoft can reach out to all kinds of gamers with Kinect. It's going to come down to content, though.
The game looks awesome and from what I can tell is packed to the brim with features. The PS4 line is pure marketing spin, but it is also somewhat believable compared to the content most other games ship with these days. The extra TLC this game has gotten looks to be well worth it.
When I got my copy I got the Dell $20 off preorder deal and used a $15 Dell giftcard I had laying around. Combine that with free shipping and I paid $25 for it.
Well worth $25. $60? Not so much.
I'm getting exactly what I thought I would out of the game. Melee mayhem, lots of explosions and incredibly addictive orb hunting. Personally, I'm not sure that Ruffian was going for much more than that when they created it, because there isn't much else t...
Have to agree with you. This game does seem to be feature-packed. It's like there's something in it for everyone.
Portal was my favorite game in the Orange Box collection, so much fun! But was I surprised by Gabe Newell announcing Portal 2 for the PS3? Not really. The guy may be abrasive and spout off a lot of nonsense, but I would have been more surprised if he'd shown up on Microsoft's stage announcing a console exclusive. The PS3 install base is just too big to ignore.
Such a terribly overpriced peripheral, even with $10 off. Good thing you can use any USB drive that you want to.
Looks like Killzone fans are excited about this one. It's great when a new game in a beloved franchise starts getting some press. It never hurts to make games more accessible to new players.
Hopefully they take control type into consideration with online matchmaking though.
I really hope that the Gran Turismo fans get everything they've been hoping for with this game. Personally I'm more of a fan of arcade racers than driving simulators, but if the sense of speed is there in this one I'll be willing to plunk down the cash to buy a copy.
It is definitely shaping up to be a nice package.
If you would please clarify, am I a PS3 fanboy or a 360 fanboy? Because I think that I was saying that the redesigns are good for both 360 and PS3 when it comes to heat management.
And just so everyone will know, what is the internal temperature that the each console must reach before it shuts itself down? And how long will it run at that temperature before doing so? Are the redesigned consoles built to shut down at exactly the same internal temperature?
I d...
That's what I take away from it. I think that most reasonable people would, but unfortunately too many will only read the title and assume Sony bashing.
I think it's good that Sony isn't taking chances with the heat and shuts the system down before damage can occur. But it's also good that new 360's will shut themselves down to self-preserve, too.
It's good to know that heat from the internal components in both the 360 and the PS3 has been dealt with in the redesigned models. I find it frustrating that the costly launch models of the 360 and PS3 experienced heat-related issues they way they did, regardless of which one was worse.
I think that people can now feel better about their new console purchases, regardless of what consoles they choose to buy.
And remember to provide proper ventilation, no m...
I feel like there hasn't been a true Mortal Kombat game since the series went to textured polygon models for the characters. Man how I loved going to the arcade and feeling the floor shake from the sounds of the pounding hits and cracking bones coming out of the Mortal Kombat II machine. It was so awesome for its time.
I wish they could recreate that feeling with a new title.
This is going to turn ugly. I've learned over the last few years that E3 just doesn't have the same pizazz that it once had. While the announcements of what's coming later in the year are exciting, I think that this year everyone knew what cats were in the bag. I wasn't really surprised by any of the big three.
So a tactical delay?
I hope that we see an uptick in overall console sales. More consoles sold equals more new games to play.
Caveat Emptor. I don't know if I could bring myself to buy a used Xbox 360. As much as I enjoy mine, and I really do, I can't help but think that many people trade them because of the issues they've had with them.
Nintendo still rules the Japanese gaming world, and handhelds are much more popular than consoles there. That's just how it goes. Clearly Microsoft didn't bring to the table what it takes to be successful in Japan.
I wonder when we're going to get to the point where increased resolution is no longer discernible to the human eye? I'm sure when it gets there that some people are still going to swear that they can see the individual pixels, but how close are we?
I do quite a bit of in-flight gaming via emulation on my laptop.
