Not really all that impressive when you look at the big picture. The Xbox to Xbox 360 conversion rate is much better than the PS2 to PS3 conversion rate. At one year in Xbox 360 sales were 25% of the original Xbox. At one year in PS3 sales are at around 4% of the PS2.
I see a lot of congratulations at such great sales with no games and a high price. But no games and a high price, as well as direct competition with the PS2, have kept Sony's customers from making the leap to the...
That's good for him I guess. I had to fight them to get them to replace mine when it broke from a well-known and publicized hinge fault. Once they agreed, though, it was smooth sailing.
Macrovision has never been all that secure. Hopefully BD+ will help them clean up their reputation.
Yeah, Q1 2008 is what has been said all along. I guess February 2008 is a bit more specific.
Isn't this news kind of old? I mean, screenshots for Lost Planet on PS3 have been circulating for a month or so.
Could always sell the thing on eBay for $10 less than I paid for it. Either way I'm still ahead. Much more tractable than the other one.
That reminds me, I need to order the Wii jacket things. They're free, so why not?
I see the resemblance to a truck. But Optimus Prime? That's a stretch.
No kidding! I've been spending a ton on games lately. In the last 30 days I've purchased Guitar Hero 3, Ratchet & Clank, Super Mario Galaxy and Assassin's Creed. And there's still Mass Effect, Soul Calibur Legends and Uncharted on my list. I'm going to give Rock Band a big pass because I just don't have the room for the drums.
So how does one prevent the lockups on firmware 1.94? Not that I've experienced any lockups at all with Assassin's Creed, but people with 1.94 have been complaining about freezing issues.
Ratchet & Clank and Super Mario Galaxy are both great games.
Edit: They're not both great games? I have them both and I could swear that they're both great.
I'll believe this when I see it. Giving away $250 worth of Blu-ray movies just for buying a PS3? Since I already have one I'd buy another PS3 and return it just to get the movies.
It wasn't posted as news. It was posted as an article. So I guess that no part of it is news.
Except when you compare the installed base of PS3 to the installed base of the 360 with respect to the installed base of the last generation. As a ratio based on the sales totals of the last generation the 360 reached 25% of the original Xbox installed base in the first year and 50% of it by the end of the second year. The PS3 has attained a conversion rate of only about 4% in the first year.
The PS2 is still stealing sales from the PS3. Removing BC from the PS3 wasn't to save...

Don't they have any that don't have band names all over them?
I can't tell you the last time I bought a game at Toys R Us. Are they even still relevant?
It hasn't happened to me yet. But if this game ends up being glitchy it's going to take a lot for me to choose another PS3 title over the 360 version.
Reviewers pushing their personal opinion? What do you think a review is?
I'll wait to see how you guys do and then I'll update.
