Still think it's funny that people blame EA for no cross-game chat. I wasn't aware that EA was the owner of the PS3 platform.
"Hardcore" is just a word that people use to make themselves feel special. They just can't accept that the game market has changed and that there are more people in it that don't take it as seriously as people around here. A truly "hardcore" gamer would love all games.
Even if there is a couple seconds of difference, what does it really matter?
Based on a completely non-scientific poll from a magazine read by fanboys. Give me a break.
Amazing how many people are willing to give Sony a complete pass on their past less-than-stellar hardware reliability issues. It took them three generations and a class-action lawsuit to get their reliability issues under control. But Microsoft does the right thing, acknowledges the problem and fixes it for free for three years, and all people can do is complain about how unacceptable it i...
Out of 100 optical drives one or two are dodgy? Both the original PlayStation and the PlayStation 2 had much higher rates of "dodgy" optical drives than that. The first PlayStations had such cheap optical drives that the plastic rails warped and games with FMV became unplayable. The PS2 had DRE's so badly that Sony was forced to extend their warranty from 90 days to a year and lost a class-action lawsuit over it.
It really comes down to the quality of the parts in the m...
That was an interesting read. It really sheds a lot of light on the real reasons that current consoles fail. There's no doubt that the 360's failure rate is high, but it is interesting to see that pretty much the same problems affect the PS3. And since the problem is cumulative it seems as though its just a matter of time before any high-powered console bites the dust from heat damage.
You can buy a wireless 360 controller with a rechargeable battery pack and a play and charge cable in a bundle for the same price as a PS3 controller these days.
Loved the first one. Can't wait for this one!
People love to play list wars around here.
The last one looked that great. So this one should, too.
I really wish that analogy would have made sense, but unfortunately it didn't.
You know what that smell coming from the Wii is? That smell is the smell of victory.
Darling Ponies?
Yep, aside from that whole announcing the release of their console a year before Sony released theirs Microsoft is never first at anything. Please, both price cuts are reactive. Microsoft is reacting to Sony and Sony is reacting do sales drops year over year.
I love both my 360 and my PS3. But if we're being honest here the PS3 is the better deal at that price any day of the week. The ability to watch HD movies just absolutely puts it over the top.
Microsoft really needed to drop the Elite's price a bit more and give the Arcade a price cut, too. Feature for feature it just isn't as good of a value.
These results aren't from gameplay. Processing intensive games are going to give the Cell a workout, so I could see max power consumption during gaming. Movie playback is completely predictable and relatively low-weight processing. I don't think it's safe to assume 50% during gaming. It's probably going to run pretty close to max consumption on some games.
I saw the new PS3 on the floor at Best Buy today. So naturally I had to pick up the box and read it. It's heavier than I thought it would be for something that's so much smaller. I watched the guy stack up 50 or so on the sales floor.
What drive do you have? I haven't really found anything over 500GB. If you could provide a link to an online store I would really appreciate it.
Considering I've been playing PS3 games for more than 2 years now and people who are getting the slim as their first PS3 have not, I suppose that two years of gaming has been worth the money I paid for my 60GB model.
Either not telling the truth or extremely gullible.
