Sales aren't going to stay at the re-launch highs forever. Many people who have been waiting for a price drop to run out and get one have done that, so there will be some normalization now. Then over the next couple of weeks the holiday sales will start and things will pick up for everyone.
My 360 doesn't struggle. Quite the contrary. I have excellent gaming on my 360.
They probably wouldn't charge anything, but they would make you have a gold membership to use it. Seems like that's what they do with everything else.
It wouldn't affect Windows OS sales at all. People do more than just browse the web. It is likely more about Microsoft controlling what users can do with the console.
Still, having to have a gold membership equates to having to pay extra for services that would otherwise be free. I haven't had a gold membership in nearly two years because I didn't play online that much. The other features that require gold, while nice, are not worth the extra cash.
I don't really ever use the browser on the Wii or PS3 because web browsing with a controller is way too clunky. I have a USB keyboard, but if I'm going to go through the trouble I'd rather just use my laptop. I use my PSP browser every now and then, but it is a pretty lousy browser.
I can connect my laptop to my TV via HDMI and stream whatever I want to. So much better than console browsing.
I have a news flash for every one. We're nearly 4 years into this generation. It's time to stop calling it "Next Gen" and start calling it the current generation. The "Next Gen" ship has sailed, my friends.

The PSP Go and the iPhone are entirely different classes of device. I think that the iPhone is the all-around better device, but the PSP is definitely the better game machine at this point.
Why the heck does every single story need to turn into a debate? Nobody questions that Uncharted looks amazing.
I just started another playthrough of Uncharted in anticipation of the new game. I'm looking forward to it so much!
At least not until games start to appear as download-only. Then current owners are disenfranchised until they go pay for a memory stick capable of storing large games.
Is it right to compare the PSP to consoles? You can't pull out your PS3 and play games on the subway or while you're out to lunch. If you're worried about price go pick up the PSP-3000 for $169, which is the same price as a DSi.
And I choose to not upgrade at this time. However, is the writing on the wall for disc-based games in the future? For now Sony supports both digital and UMD-based games. But I would be surprised if we don't start seeing new titles released as download-only. After all, what better way to shut down the used game market and cut manufacturing costs for new games all in one shot?

PS3 still needs to overcome the Wii. It's going to take them a long time to close a 30 million unit gap. Especially with the Wii's price cut this weekend.
The more PS3's there are the better. Xbox 360, at nearly 4 years old, is starting to show its age. I hate to say it because I love my 360. But Sony is really starting to come on strong.
I don't think that anyone would be surprised to see the PS3 surpass the 360 now because it is a much better value at $299 than the Elite is. Microsoft needs to drop the Arcade and sell one SKU for $199. That's probably the only way they can stay at #2 for another year.
Not in Japan they won't. Perhaps globally, and then only for a week or two.
