I worry more about the overall state of console gaming in Japan than just a particular console. Admittedly the PS3 and Wii are doing reasonably well in Japan (especially compared to 360), but handheld gaming is really what's keeping companies alive over there.

They might. They were attacking multiple fronts with the PS3, trying to drive a more broad HD adoption with taking a loss on Blu-ray. They'll make that money up on the back end through royalties on Blu-ray as well as on software sales.

Sounds like this guy has a time management issue he needs to deal with. The system in Uncharted 2 sucks for those who experience legitimate issues with leaving a game early, such as network loss, power loss or console freezing. I imagine cases like that are a significant minority.
