Their acquisition by EA will be the reason for their decline. The studio makes great games.
What was BioWare's monetary investment in Mass Effect?
Always a conspiracy, everywhere you look. JRPG's aren't declining because of too many shooters on the 360 or FUD from developers. They're declining because there aren't that many being localized for countries outside of Japan. Out of sight, out of mind. It's just part of the evolution of the industry.
There was a time when probably more than 95% of all console RPG's were developed in Japan and then translated for sale in other countries. As games have become more sophisticated an...
You can't access the web without going through their authentication gateway. Their router just keeps sending you to the login page if your machine hasn't registered and logged in.
It's a system much like you see in hotels where you have to enter the room number and password to gain access.
I just tether my laptop to my BlackBerry and enjoy free access at McDonalds. Or anywhere else I go that doesn't offer free WiFi.
They aren't PC fans. You just don't see PC gamers jumping into threads like this.
Why so angry? I don't get it. Microsoft may not get any royalties from the sale of games with the Games for Windows label, but they sure do get a marketing and publicity jolt from it, so there are returns on the back-end for Microsoft.
People who use this to argue are incredibly short-sighted and comical in their ignorance. Gaming may not be the main driver for Windows revenue, but when people are building a high-end gaming rig they have to buy Windows to play the games with the...
Yep. The whole "if it's also on PC then it isn't exclusive" line is one of the more lame arguments I see here.
Who cares if the games are also on PC? I'm going to play them on my 360, so that's what matters to me. But if playing listwars is more fun than playing games for you then so be it. Live and let live.
To be honest, I'm happy that most 360 console exclusive games are released under the Games for Windows moniker. More revenue for developers equals more games. Win-win if you ask me.
Yep. Epic is way too overused.
The first Halo game was the beginning of hundreds of "me-too" console shooters. It must have been awesome because everyone was trying to out-do it.
Games like Gears, Resistance and Killzone all owe their success to the Halo effect.
This is my favorite one.
Your first two points make sense. But the people who want to argue with everyone ignore points that make sense.
For the third point, the only people that expected any console to destroy any other console are the people you talked about in your first two points. There's no reason to go down the rabbit hole of the sales game with these people.
Just think of it this way: You can't argue with an idiot. They'll just drag you down to their level and beat you with experienc...
So should every broken Wii and PS3 not be counted in sales? I don't get it.
The problem is that you think vgchartz knows what they're talking about.
I expect RPG's to be somewhat linear, so I'm not sure what's up. After all, it's a story that you're a part of.
People are always going to whine that the 360 "gimped" the PS3 version, but in this case that claim is completely unsubstantiated. The PS3 was the lead platform from the beginning and they didn't go back and rewrite the entire story and change all of the work they had done just to take it to the 360.
If it's linear it's because it was designed that way.
Personally I'm a bit tired of hearing about remakes. I'd rather have new and original games instead of rehashes of games from the past.
Heh, so the game will be less fun on 360 because it isn't on Blu-Ray? That's a new one. What other multi-plat game has been less fun because it wasn't on Blu-ray?
I didn't know that anyone expected Ghostbusters to be the second coming. I'd be willing to wager that it was better than most people expected it to be, all things considered.
