Call of Duty got old after a while, so I went back to Halo 3, which never gets old to me. I'm not saying COD is a bad game. It's amazing. In my opinion, Halo is better, atleast in multiplayer.
Gears doesn't have much competition on the 360, though, except for Left 4 Dead, which will be good but overlooked. Resistance 2 is its main rival, but as they are on different systems, they won't affect each other much.

Resident Evil is an epic survival horror game that requires you to stop before shooting, which works out very well in the situations provided. Left 4 Dead is a coop-based zombie shooter with fast gameplay and an AI editor that makes every experience unique.
Fallout 3 is completely different from the other two, being a shooter/rpg set in the post-apocalyptic future, featuring first and third person views, as well as perks and the ability to stop time and set up attacks.

I'm not a huge Fallout fan, but I believe the ability to stop time is a major feature in the other games. This feature is crucial to the series. Plus it is freakin' awesome.

How is the fact that the game is now multiplatform a bad thing for Final Fantasy fans? If anything, it is a good thing, as any fans that own 360's don't have to buy PS3's just to play the game(as I am doing for MGS4). The new dashboard update pretty much answers all my complaints about the current setup(8 person chat FTW). The demos of Fallout 3, RE5, and Fable 2 were interesting, and the FF announcement was surprising. For me, though, Gears of War 2 totally stole the show. The "Rendezvous" trailer and gameplay footage were spectacular. Much better press conference than last year.
I only played the demo for a little while, but found it very enjoyable. I can see how some people would dislike the game, but to me it is very fun and entertaining. The gameplay far, far outweighs the average graphics. Probably a buy for me.
I doubt Microsoft will spoil any more of this highly classified project. They will probably show off the more well known Halo title instead...
The 4vs4 fit the game nicely, and the maps made it feel right. 5v5 is a step up and will make the matches even more exciting. Back when I was a PC gamer, I thought it was best to have as many people as possible in a match. Not true. Often times, except in clan matches, the large amount of players caused chaos, with little actual teamwork. With less players, the teams tend to act more like squads, communicating and helping each other out. More players doesn't necessarily mean more fun. ...

Even if it is, Bungie might not even be making it, as MS owns the rights to the Halo series. I'm not sure if MS would announce a new game that would steal Gears 2's thunder. I feel like GeOW 2 will be the main focus, and a new Halo game would take most if not all the attention away.

The covenant was destroyed and gravemind was defeated. That's a victory over both the Aliens and the Flood. They could never make another Halo game and I would be satisfied with the Halo 3 ending.
Weird... But yeah, I helped Sony this week by trading in my Wii for a PS3(Metal Gear Solid 4 bundle). They sold more than 360s yet again...
But 360 sold more hardware, which is where the money is made. I think they lose money on the consoles themselves and gain money on the games. Sony need more games like MGS4(amazing game) to increase software sales as well as hardware.
