Good choices, but I would put Halo on the list somewhere. That was one of the first major LAN party games, and is the first game that comes to mind when I think of LAN parties. Overall, it's a great list, though, and I will probably try some of these myself soon.
It seems like all of you are fanboys or spammers(that spray thing is not cool or funny at all). I'm sure both Sony and MS will have great stuff to show off, but I doubt it will be a massacre. Xbox fans will be excited about xbox stuff, PS fans will be excited about PS stuff, gamers like me will be excited about everything, and N4G will be a fanboy warzone.

I'm sure that if Bungie does not make the new Halo then MS will find another great developer to do it. One of the Bungie PR guys even left the company to join the project at MS studios, to ensure they don't screw it up. It will be atleast decent, as it is a very big deal to many people and a huge source of income for MS.

There is no way Gears 3 is coming to PS3. I'm not really biased or anything, but Gears of War is an exclusive series that I know MS will never let go of.
Microsoft owns Halo, so the game will not be multiplatform. My advice is just to buy a 360 if you don't own one. Then you can experience the best of what both consoles have to offer.

I'm moving from having a 360 and a wii to having a 360 and a PS3. But if I only had a 360, I wouldn't sell it to buy a PS3.
Back when Gears 2 was announced, I was like "Awesome! This is gonna pwn Resistance 2! 360 FTW!!! Not really... I'm not that big of a fanboy. I was happy, but I kind of wanted to experience Resistance as well(8 person coop sounded epic). With the huge success of MGS4, I made a huge decision, to sell my Wii in order to buy a PS3. It's on ebay now (PM me if you're interested). By the time Resistance comes out, I'll have a PS3 and I'll get to experience both games.

LotR and Star Wars both have billions of action figures, board games, etc., but no one is complaining about it. Could it be because some people have biased perspectives? Probably. I think the left thumbstick should be above the right one, atleast for good FPS gameplay. That's why the 360 controller is better than the PS3 one for that genre. The layout is inferior to the PS in some other genres though, so the two designs are about equal, as long as both are rumble. Dualshock FTW!
First, I wouldn't even count the Wii into my calculations, as it is only selling the most because of little kids and old people, not many hardcore gamers(I'm not saying that no real gamers have wii's, just that the majority of sales come from non-gamers).

There is no way video game violence is worse for a child than an unstable life. Also, those kids that are quoted have worse problems than violent video game exposure if they want to shoot ppl when they grow up. BS.

You can get a Gamecube nowadays for like 30 dollars... If they want to give the kid a last gen console, they should just give him a PS2 or an Xbox. They must have spent their budget on the event, with little left over for the prizes.
