Seriously guys...it's called advertising.

You don't get it for free, you have to pay for it - and $160,000 for a few million views is cheap at the price; in traditional media it'll get you a couple of subway posters, if that. Every time a commercial airs, someone has to get paid royalties.

Now: should I have to pay for the commercials? Or should the companies making the commercials pay for it? ..And that's why XBL is a ripoff.

"...gamers also keep forgetting the fact that Rare has managed to release eight titles in three years; they include Perfect Dark Zero, Kameo: Elements Of Power, Viva Pinata, Diddy Kong Racing DS, Jetpac Refuelled, Viva Pinata: Trouble In Paradise, Viva Pinata DS, and Bonjo-Kazooie: Nuts And Bolts..."

Banjo-Kazooie? Viva Pinàta?? bahahahahahahahaha

Oh man...that's some funny sh*t.

Why does this feel like those cheap articles that try to get hits with headlines like "The PS3 is dead" or "Is this the end of the 360?"

Because it IS one of those cheap articles.

Greenberg doesn't piss me off nearly as much as the trolls who defend his statements as though they were St. Mary's virtue.

Said trolls aren't terribly bright, however, so it's unlikely they'll find the genetic wherewithal to breed - and that's something we can all appreciate. Greatly.

Pretty funny considering I switched from the original XBOX (I'd pimped it out with mods, too, so I loved it) to a PS3 because I saw what a piece of crap the 360 was. Let alone the fact that the PS3 came with everything that Microsoft made you fork out extra for (especially the hard drive - how is that an optional add-on?).

Not to mention that I still have my *original* PS3, which has worked flawlessly since day one, for a few years now (bought it shortly after launch). No repai...

Maybe it'll get better. I can't speak to that. What I can say is that right now that ****-gargling ****-spewing *********-**** **** ***** can eat **** *** and **** my ******** before I ******* spend another second on it.

Sorry. I'm a bit pent-up. All this wait...

It's that the majority of gamers expect next-gen innovation from games designed for next-gen systems. If I plug a PS2 game into my PS3, I notice a marked difference in game quality; and I'm not just talking about graphics.

I'm talking about freedom. The more options and interaction you offer, the more freedom you have as a character. The reality of the game becomes that much more real, that much more interesting.

And Capcom has decided to severely limit your optio...

Part of it is economics - until the global economy gets back on its feet, developers aren't going to take many risks; preferring instead to capitalize on existing IPs and similarly 'guaranteed' revenue.

There'll always be gems amongst the dross, but I wouldn't expect anything truly spectacular or groundbreaking from disc releases for a while - network games, on the other hand, are cheaper to make; so we get great games like flOwer and various other experimental formats like Noby ...

Finally, someone who refuses to play the apologist for Capcom. RE5 blows so hard, it implodes.

I couldn't even make it through the demo without throwing the controller at the TV in disgust.

Laaaaaazy development. They tacked a buddy system on to a last-gen game and left it at that.

Lame, Capcom. Really lame.

Nice article - 'decisions are being made, a bill is going to the Utah House of Commons...but we're not going to tell you what it actually concerns or seeks to legislate.'

I almost felt informed, for a second.

EDIT: I actually went and looked at the minutes in the legislature. Novel, and awash with legalese, but it looks like ultimately what they're trying to do is ensure stricter enforcement of age limits on games in regards to ratings. Sounds pretty watered-down...

Put a smoothie, a coffee (preferably laced with something alcoholic), and some ice cream into a blender and PRESTO!

Mocha float. That's how I roll.

..Oh, and good article. Nice metaphors. ^_^

While I've enjoyed the outings of various Final Fantasy iterations, I'd like to see a JRPG that incorporates turn-based combat with the immersive gameplay of Knights of the Old Republic.

Maybe there's already something like that out there for PS2/3...anyone?

This guy can't be certain of what he's saying, because he doesn't have a PS3 and has never played Killzone 2 - but he loves him some 360, boy howdy. Besides, he overheard some dudes talking about it at recess, and they said 'brick' and 'Killzone' in what sounded like approximately the same sentence..so it must be true... >_<

I'm surprised there hasn't been a morality war waged against EA over this ad. If game publishers can use nudity to advertise, why can't they put more of it in adult games without Fox News getting the neo-cons up in arms about "think of the children"?

While guns and mass slaughter continue to be socially acceptable, (and "Killzone 2", while amazing, is just another proof); seeing a pair of bare breasts could scar them for life. They're impressionable, you kno...

I just walked into Blockbuster the day before it was released and asked them to hold a copy for me. Soo easy...and I didn't have to pay until I had it in my hands, either!

I can't even picture how I'm supposed to use these stupid things - looks a hell of a lot harder than using a DualShock. I should be messing with a PS3mote while I try and move a mouse around simultaneously? How does that improve my accuracy?

This has 'Hey, Wii and PC users, come try me' written all over it. I seriously doubt the majority of the PSN community is going to go for 'em.

I know I'm not. But if you wanna improve your FPS skills - grab a pair of FPSFreek...

Fair enough. If you discriminate equally against everyone; I guess you're in the clear.

Screw disclaimers and 'agreements' - a human rights code violation is a human rights code violation. Any agreement breaching that code is illegal on the face of it, I don't care if you did click 'agree'. If I make a site disclaimer that says I own everything of yours if you click agree...and you click it, that still won't hold up in court. I can whine about disclaimers all I want - I'll still lose.

Just like Microsoft will lose if/when someone decides to serve them for sexual ...

We've heard speculation that deflector-beanies made of household tinfoil will protect you from mind-control rays; as well as there being confirmed inside information about theories concerning the existence of Bigfoot and the Loch Ness Monster.

It may be too early to say for certain, but industry analysts have also confirmed that there are several sources claiming the existence of Santa Claus, the Easter Bunny, and leprechauns; although we probably won't know probable details unti...

Barack hits the nail on the head: if there's a problem, it isn't 'the influence of videogames on children' but the lack of influence of parents.

Kids obsessing over the goggle box? Starting to see some negative behavior patterns? Get off your ass and DO some 'good parenting'. Of course, then parents would actually have to spend time with their kids and pay attention to them; instead of finding ways to 'keep them occupied'. ..Heaven forbid. >_<
