I was dearly hoping the PS3 fans would take the high road, and show themselves to be something qualitatively different from the 360 fans who so recently defecated all over themselves and our sense of what is good, decent, and dammit, FAIR in the gaming community.

I was wrong. So horribly, horribly wrong. For shame: a second wrong doesn't make you right; it makes the OTHER guy right, because you just validated his actions.

Shame on those responsible.

@ greenmeanie:

Yeah? Seems to me many folks are equally intolerant of Muslims. Vocally, vociferously anti-Muslim, in many cases. Round and round we go - and everyone's aggrieved because others don't agree with everything we say or believe.

Citizens of Planet Earth: get your heads screwed on straight and realize that we're all human beings, regardless of what KIND of human being you are. We really aren't all that different from each other.

And anybod...

Thank you, Dipso, for voicing a pet peeve of mine.

It's true everywhere, but man; I'm getting really tired of misleading headlines that are worded to grab your interest, and then turn out to have nothing to do with the story. That's false advertising, dammit!

>_<

Atheist or not, posting a message linking to a fundraising site and telling people to donate is spam.

Flagged.

Same uproar as about Bioshock. I'm playing it now (Bioshock, that is) and yes, if I stick my nose right up next to something; the textures sometimes turn to pixelated crap.

But I don't care. Because I'm enjoying the game, which rocks.

Similarly, Fallout will rock. And I'll enjoy the gameplay without nitpicking. ..And all you pixel whores can suck my left nut.

That is all. ^_^

That may well be, Neurotoxin. But a 5:100,000 ratio still favors the PS3 over the 360.

That's a made-up number, of course; I don't actually know how many RRoDs there have been vs. PS3 failures. Anyone who cares that much can look it up for themselves. But I'd bet money that the actual numbers are pretty much along those lines - you aren't going to get far arguing about hardware failure rates, because it's almost universally accepted (on both sides of the console war) that the ...

I have to laugh at the fanboys; no matter what console they're defending. Sure I get a little ego boost when my console is being plugged, but I try not to participate...I'm nobody's marketing drone.

I find it hilarious because they play the reviews, blogs, and forums exactly the same way you'd play a rousing team deathmatch.

Players polarize to either side and start firing away at each other with various weapons. Sometimes one gets a power-up (read: substantive evi...

Well said, sir.

Sony's perfectly right to be concerned - they are a corporation, and corporations are in the business of making money. You don't want to run the risk of losing part of your market share.

Which they would: some people would refuse to buy it simply because gaming is generally considered neutral territory (like the separation of church and state), and the inclusion of Qu'ran related material could be seen as either promoting it or insulting it - neith...

I actually agree with this guy...a little. So it's not just flame bait - it's a perspective that we can examine.

There's only one reason I'd waste my time in a virtual environment like Home: to customize the sh*t out of my Home Space and then use it as my lair to entertain the odd friend (and my friends are VERY odd).

What I see so far looks like The Sims HD. What it needs to be is LittleBigPlanet HD. If I want to build a funhouse complete with mirror maze and s...

Nice thing about the PS3 that you can't reliably say about the 360 - you only have to buy it once. Count the savings in that...or go buy a Wii; assuming you can find one in stock.

If I'm dropping anything more than a hundred dollars on something, you'd better believe I'm going to research it. So would most people with sense.

And no, LBP isn't going to save Sony - they don't need saving, as everyone else has pointed out - but if they did, LBP wouldn't have to stand ...

I didn't want a golden joke like that one nixed by the mods for fanboyism - just being careful. ^_^

Anyone who thinks games are getting easier...try playing Silent Hill:Homecoming. IMHO, some games are actually getting harder.

I can understand that devs are trying to appeal to a broader audience, but they won't throw off hardcore gamers in order to appeal to the mainstream crowd. We're their bread & butter - casual gamers don't spend as much money or time on their hobby.

I'm actually in favor of making games 'gamer-friendly', with as many options for customiz...

Ok, I got it - only because SH2 pulled me in, and hope springs eternal; because SH4 pissed me off with how stupid it was, and got traded in.

I'm liking it better than #4. So it's already off to a good start. Very creepy, great music, better controls, a similarly compelling storyline with plenty of gruesome ambience. But I find myself increasingly frustrated with the lack of an 'Easy' difficulty setting, one which perhaps would offer more than a single ammo drop every 2 hours. ...

Of the options presented at the end of the article, this is my vote:

..Go interview the Mac guy. Because Windoze blows, and Micro$oft sucks. The empire is starting to crumble, and some year in the not too distant future, it will fall and be sold off in parcels to rival companies.

You heard it here first, and you can quote me.

@ Bladestar:

"If you're so goddamn smart - how come you ain't rich?"

I hate that quote. I mention it because morons like you seem to believe it. Look, some people get rich; and some people are naturally intelligent. The two have absolutely nothing to do with each other.

Van Gogh? Arguably a brilliant artist - died poor and alone. Decades later his work makes the people who own it millionaires; not through any virtue of their own, but by sim...

Am I going crazy, or do you have to buy all three in order to play as the other two species? ..So if I don't fork over the full $150, I'm stuck with a single campaign?

Complete bullcrap, says I. Blizzard is getting greedy - I wouldn't pay that for a good console game, let alone a PC game. Oooh, so they made an extra 15 levels per campaign. I can do that with Staredit, I don't need to pay more of my hard earned money for that! The excuse that "it's just like having 2 exp...

In a follow-up interview, sources within the company say that DHL is allegedly refusing to reimburse Microsoft for damages because, as one executive put it,
"..you can't damage a piece of crap. It's already worthless."

Sorry, I couldn't resist. ^_^
