Gears started in 2006, a decade is 10 years.
Hey, I'm one of those few who enjoys your standard Halo games and also got a kick out of ODST. I apologize if it seemed like I was jumping down your throat there, I just feel this games going to get dumped on for reasons that aren't necessarily fair.
I love the Multiplayer too, right up to the point where you realize it's only 4 maps for competitive MP. I think this is partially due to the other game modes having their own maps completely separate (Overrun/Surviva...
@Reverent
Based on his commentt history I believe he is truly stupid enough to have typed what he just typed without a shred of sarcasm.
Would love to be proven wrong, but usually people with a hardware preference are absolutely humourless.
Spandex that supports AND separates!
That's the point of the campaign, it's an arcade score attack. The story is broken up that way, and told the way it's told for precisely that reason.
The hectic nature of some sections with the Declassify activated on harder difficulties are fantastic.
What people are bound to miss is that this Gears isn't your typical Gears. The story is told the way it is to better facilitate the different sections and how everything is broken up. It's an arcade score attack Gears game, don't come to this game expecting the cohesion of Gears 3.
I actually took someone to task for calling out specifically Ivy Valentine from Soul Calibur. In that series she is the only one who is truly sexualized, the rest are very reserved and I would say far more "realistic" in their portrayals. Which just leaves Ivy as the odd ball, which I've put probably more thought into than I should.
I just look at it like Ivy is a in charge kinda lady if you know what I mean. Reading to far into it or that she is how women are ...
@onyoursistersback
You totally missed what xHeavYx said didn't yeah?
Seeing as how this article is written by Stephen Totilo, you can pretty much write this article off right there. He has disappeared so far up his own butthole that he's come back around again, anyone who disagree's with him is a hater of women and loves to punch women in the stomach.
This whole debate would be so much more tolerable if it wasn't wrapped in that polarizing "On our side or not." shtick.
Ding ding ding
You're neglecting the fact that these games are set pieces, it's the exact same as Heavy Rain or Beyond. They do not feature dynamic motion, AI, Physics or anything beyond very set in stone events.
They look great and I still enjoy busting out Infinity Blade on the subway, but don't kid yourself. Neither game is anywhere near Gears of War 3 or Bioshock Infinte, both in terms of just visuals at face value and what the game does and how that taxes the hardware.
Wait...did you just respond to yourself? Weird.
Most Wanted on the Vita is basically the console version with cut down car density and such. Not to mention actual controls, comparing Real Racing 3 to anything on the Vita is kinda silly, especially considering the open world aspect of Most Wanted.
You also neglected to mention that Most Wanted is a complete game out of the box and not a mioro transaction mess.
Because something being popular and making money would be a bad thing for Lucasarts and Star Wars games that don't revolve around Jedi and force powers.
Some FPS/BF/CoD haters need to get a grip.
I like your post, although I would disagree somewhat with Nariko. She showed off a fair bit of cheek, but that doesn't detract from her being a great character.
I will grant you this, her physical proportions were excellent. She looked like she had the torso to swing around the Heavenly Sword.
Looking at her topics she has outlined on the kickstarter page I just don't see her having better more well rounded arguments for any of that either.
"The Fighting F#@k Toy" That's probably where it's going to come in. But I can't help but feel somewhat insulted by the whole idea of it, it all comes around to that idea that you can't decipher what you see on screen and reality. The idea that Trish or Ivy has changed anyones minds eye view of wome...
I feel like even if Anita gets her way and we all nod our heads at the idea of Peach being the sole "goal" and an object, it still kinda misses the point of the game.
Mario is all about collecting the star coins or stars, your impetus to continue playing isn't to save Peach it's to continue experiencing the fantastic 3D gameplay or one of the best 2D side scrollers. Saving the Mushroom Kingdom is the reason "why" not the reason you continue.
But the blonde hair!!!
Ever seen a Calvin klein ad?
I kinda feel like the microtransaction stuff is kinda easy to avoid, there are always alternatives. I don't like the idea of microtransaction being in 60 dollar games, so I just don't purchase them, or in the case of something like Mass Effect 3 I just use the in game currency.
Show the publishers that Microtransactions aren't viable in this space, it will slowly disappear.
It's a little bit different when you have that many people banging away at your game, Counter Strike for years and years had patches pushed out on a regular basis.
Call of Duty does not deserve the scores it has received in long while. But to downplay it as something less than a solid enjoyable shooter, with a smooth framerate is pure snobbery.
