@Hazelamy
You can play most windows 95 Games even today. You could run Dos games via dosbox(Dos emulator)., trust me most of them run. I personally played old games like Conquest, wrestlemania arcade few months back on dosbox i was amused myself how they were working, Dosbox is now very mature.
With PC you atleast have the option to run such stuff, on console you dont.
Not to mention ever older console games are playable on PC. While console ...
Only console kids care about exclusives so they can brag about their favorite console. In the end really it only happens to be a handful of games worth playing in the entire year.
However even if it is a question of exclusives PC has more of those then any console. This year alone we have:
Shogun 2
Dawn of war 2 retribution
Witcher 2
Red orchestra 2
Hard reset
Battle field 3 is like a PC exclusive since its a c...
Agreed man, and with some genres like FPS i think it would be a total pain in the ass to aim properly.
Would be awesome if they actually went with a fantasy setting man. Take some ques from Warcraft 3. Give the heros alot of micromanagement tools. Also give them customized armor and weapons etc. I think all of that would add alot of depth to the game.
You could have mage heros that can do damage summon elementals etc or maybe heros like the Paladin which could heal other units and provide support or maybe a Warrior hero who can either do alot of damage or act like a damage spo...
Id love to see a total war in a fantasy setting like Warcraft or so. They could make different units like Healers, Spell casters, Melee, Heavy melee, Air, Include heroes in it too like Warcraft 3, would be awesome imo.
@Battleaxe
Thanks for getting my msg across.
I do have reservations why next console may not support current software, this is because architectures may completely change. You see Current consoles were introduced 6 years back, Tech has changed alot in that time. Inorder to maintain BC Sony and MS will need to maintain the old architecture(which to me seems highly unlikely), Hell it even looks unlikely that Sony will use an Nvidia GPU for their next console, t...
@steve
Do you have any gaurantees your Xbox 360 games will work on the Xbox 720. Essentially the console hardware is the DRM, the thousands of USD worth of sofware you bought so far this gen may be worth scrap as soon as you buy the next box, unless you are willing to keep buying the old console over and over again.
So how do you game then? Console DRM is even worse. You are locked onto that hardware. Few years later when you get the new box you just lose all your games because you can no longer play them on the next box.
I have played GT5 i think its a good game, but graphics wise its average best. Most of the environment looks very static, Imo dirt 2 on PC looks alot better.
@buddy
GT5 maybe a good game however its no where close to being the best looking race game. That title easily goes to Dirt 2 or Grid running on PC, Hell even NFS Shift running on PC beats out GT5.
We been seeing 1600*1200 on PC since 1998 (which is about 1080p).
1080p is actually an entry level for PC these days. There are many setup out there that are running games on multiple screens now at some crazy resolutions like 5750*1080 (which is about 6 times higher then the current console 720p HD standard), You dont even need much expensive hardware to make that happen. A combo of 6870's can easily acheive this(which would cost about 350usd).
The only...
Dont see who would care the game is garbage anyways.
That depends PC gaming is very flexible, you can have a 2000usd monster rig equipped with tri sli or quad sli GPUs along with an I7 oced to hell loaded with SSDs, running at some insane resolution like 5760*1080(which is atleast 6 times higher then the current console 720HD standard) thats one end of the spectrum.
On the other end you can get a 500usd rig that will still be doing 1080p 60fps(which is still a gen ahead of consoles) and can get every game on a cheaper price hen...
PC >>>>>> ALL
It still makes more money than any game out there lol.
@fatalred alarm
It wasnt average actually it was Mediocre so yes you are right, average would be too good.
"Sood's sources claim that Microsoft pitted the best console players using control pads against "mediocre" PC gamers with mice and keyboards and found that the console players were "destroyed every time." It was apparently so bad, he wrote, that cross-platform play would have been an embarrassment to the Xbox team."
The big questing is will they support KB/Mouse?
So far support has been near nill at best, with only 1 out of 500 released showing support. The odds are against any KB/Mouse support.
@newmonday
You will be sorry lol. Though would suck to be teaming up with a control pad user and then going against Mouse keybaord users lol.
Ask MS how it went, they said Xbox would feature cross gameplay with the PC. Ask them why they dumped the idea, it was because in their internal testing expert control pad users got beaten pretty badly by the average PC gamer.
If it goes Steamworks i dont see how controlpad console gamers will fare against Keyboard mouse users it will be a totally unfair fight.
Specially it would suck to have control pad users fighting by my side if the other team has more PC users on board. Hence i dont see how a game like this would benefit any of the userbase by going Steamworks.
Console gamer will be at odds going up against Mouse using PC player.
PC player who has console game...
The modding community might as well copy all of the MW3 maps for MW1 most people wouldnt note the difference lol.
People are essentially paying 60usd for new maps and a 4 hour SP campaign every year, its just sad. Furthermore people even go as far as buying map packs. In the end all Activision is doing is selling maps(which is something the modding community can do for free and can do so better then Activision ever can). Its just that the modding community has been locked ou...
